GOD FORBID anything happens to Mr. Williams, Joel Mcneely would get my vote for the scores on either of the up comming Star Wars films.

I just got this CD today, after looking for it for years. Awesome stuff.

Some people have been asking about the multimedia stuff:

Basically it's a Shadows the Empire insiders guide. It loads up with a picture of Xizor, then you get a menu. The items on the menu are 'Introduction', 'Creative team', 'music', 'books', 'toys', 'comics' 'Shadows of the empire universe'.

Each item has lots of information about what went into the creation of Shadows of the Empire. There is a gallery of all Ralph McQuarries art work, as well as the guy who does the covers of the books. There are galleries of all the conceptual art done for the computer game.

There's a biography of Steve Pretty, as well as the prologue from the book.

There are resume's of everyone who was even remotely connected to Shadows of the Empire.

If there's anything else anyone wants to know, just ask.

Why is it when you look at this thread, the branching goes: TheForce.net -> Jedi Council Forums -> Expanded Universe -> Star Wars Music ? I thought this was in the Movies section.

I've got the SOTE video game on my comp and listen to some of the tracks. I'm thinking about asking for it for Christmas or something, but we'll see.

see the only things on this cd that really do it for me are the opening titles/Leia's Nightmare and Night Skies... both of which are primarily Williams' work. I dunno it just does not have a good enough melody for me. Oh and the Dah Werda Verda or Die Wanna Wanga or whatever does not hold a CANDLE to Duel of the Fates.

Gosh i love that soundtrack... I prefer the JW ones though.

But this ones has its own style, and captures a more gothic and religious feeling of Star Wars in some pieces.

I especially love 'Night Skies' and 'Xizor's Theme'... especially Night Skies becuase it uses spooky vocals in combinations with the Imperial March and the Force theme.

I have to applaud McNeely on a good job.

As I've already pruned quite a few threads that were redundant to this one, I decided to make it the official thread and up it for anyone who wants to continue discussion. :)

And, actually, I've never heard it, but is it really a song, or is it a "track" or "cue" (i.e. no lyrics)?

    :p
