Why? All it means is that Sifo-Dyas' impersonator was seen in AOTC. Most people assume this was Dooku. It doesn't say anything about Sifo/Qui-gon himself.

 

Maybe Sifo Dyas was on his way to Kamino sent by the Jedi coucil? But he never made it....

Yoda and Mace knew he was killed and never made it there. Thats why they seem so concerend when they learn that the order for the army was apparently placed by him.

(maybe Yoda deleted the information on Kamino fearing that the information about the cloners would get out to the wrong hands - hence sending a Jedi, Sifo Dyas, out to investigate. After all Yoda was quick to agree about the young childs conclusion of the archive memory being deleted.)

Sideous, scouting for a new apprentice courts Sifo Dyas for a while but upon refusal to join him 'offs' him as he now knows the identity of the Sith Lord. Sids, knowing that the Kaminoeans were expecting a visit from a Jedi named Sifo Dyas had Dooku, his new apprentice, impersonate Sifo - (or possibly Dooku hired one of those changer things that we saw in AOTC).

Anyway, the time of reckoning is nearly upon us, and if the trailers are anything to go by EpIII should be great! Star Wars back at its best.
