    If anyone knows any kids who would want to join the Imperial Trooper Cadet Academy. This is set up by Albin Johnson who founded the 501st Legion Stormtrooper Costuming club.

    I saw those Valentines day cards for the clone wars today. So bought 6 boxes and gave them to the Glen Carin Centre. The kids there will love them.

    Hey everyone we got an e-mail request for a birthday party, Tomorrow!

    I suggested bringing the young guy out Sunday. So everyone may need to be in costume this Sunday.

    Yeah that guy never e-mailed back. My costume is in a really big box and I'm not going to load it up just on the chance that he may show up.

    I haven't been online much this week, because I've been VERY sick. I'm much better now, so hopefully I'll be able to make it out on Sunday.

    There was a request for a Darth Maul in the 501st to attend a hockey game in port Huron on the 28th. He gets to drop the opening puck too. However ti doesn't seem that anyone can go. This would be a great oppertunity for the London Rogues.
    Jedidougcdn could pull this one off. He's got the boots & gloves. I have a robe that would be good for the tunic and I have a saberstaff. Rabellaka has a Darth Maul mask and a black robe that would fit. All that is left is the belt and pants.
    Jacasta-Nu is from that time frame too.

    That sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe Lord_Robert can put on some Jedi robes too unless he plans to do Commander Fox. Are you thinking of bringing an Ewok or two with us?

    I have black cotton pants (khaki-type), which would probably work. I also have the black WW II German boots. My gauntlets are en route, and I'm hoping they arrive by the weekend. I'm sure we could fashion a belt in a week using black pleather and rivets. It could even velcro in the back.

    I've taken a look at the costume. It's not really hard, but it has a lot of details that would take work if we wanted to replicate it perfectly.

    Inner vest with mandarin collar:
    [image=http://www.jedi-academy.com/art/maulinnercoat_f.jpg][image=http://www.kropserkel.com/Images/DM2.jpg]

    Outer coat with tabbard-like scarf and pouffy sleeves:

    This shows all the measurements:
    [image=http://www.jedi-academy.com/art/mauloutercoat_dim.jpg]

    The belt is made similar to the Jedi belts, which buckle in the back and have a leather piece that covers the buckle up.

    The belt has one large piece inside and 4 smaller belts outside. There is a fabric panel sewn onto the inside piece in the front. This hangs down to the knees.

    If we just wanted to do a version of the costume, it shouldn't be too bad. Maybe everyone can bring what they have to the Garrison on Sunday and we can see what we can do. I'll see if I have any black fabric laying around - maybe you guys can bring what you have as well.

    These reference pics are of the Kropserkel replica costume (they're based in Toronto, BTW).

    I've added the EVENT to the London Rogues website.

    I haven't contacted them yet. They request a him from the 501st. However if there is no one from the 501st who can go we could offer someone. They only want Darth Maul.

    Oh, I see. Well hopefully this will work out, because I bought some fabric today and I've already started work on a Darth Maul costume.

    I've taken the event off the site. Let me know what happens.

    That's cool. I'm just working on the sleeves now. I'll still need a belt though. Maybe we can make do tonight with some scrap leather or something...

    I finished the Maul costume and sent some photos to Robert this evening to pass on to the people in Michigan. It's out of my hands now.

    Maybe that's a nice way of saying they don't like the costume. ;)

    Well, I did my best. Maybe I can use the costume for some other event in the future. FYI I have found a woman in London who does theatrical makeup.

    That would be hard to say, once your in with groups like the 501st and Rebel Legion people will go out of thier way to help. If they don't know you, then you don't exist.
