I just bought season one from Amazon, season two I got from Target, has season three gone on sale yet? I just Finished Disc 1 from Season one It looks fantastic way better then the HD on Disney XD I took a break to watch The MLB HR Hitting challenge on ESPN may be latter I will watch Disc 2?
are the commentaries? if so are they really good?

 

Question I wanted to get this board's thoughts on: in that new Filoni tweet about Ahsoka and the Bendu the Bendu calls her "former Jedi Knight". At what point was she a Jedi Knight? I thought never...

In the Forces of Destiny short we see Yoda granting her the rank of Jedi Knight.

 

No she was not granted the rank of a Jedi Knight, just a more advanced padawan - I understood it that way.

 

I just watched the short and you are right. "On the path of becoming a Jedi Knight, you are."

 

It is a grey area.

Ahsoka was offered the rank of Jedi Knight and lost her Padawan beads. But rejected it. The Council saw her as a Knight because they believed she passed the test, which the Force gave her.

 

Uh no he didn't. He gave her another part of her Padawan braid.

 

Yep. Each braid (or hair knot) is like a scouts badge to Padawan's

Really interesting things he said about the Emperor here. And Kallus's name is alright, very generic though.

Even there it is never quite specified if they were actually offering her jedi knighthood because she was only a padawan for less then 3 years while Anakin who is the chosen one was a padawan for 10 years

The fact that The Emperor might personally be involved with the story of Kanan and Ezra is troubling for their fate in S4. Maybe old man Sheev will show up in person to snuff them out like he did to Maul and Mother Talzin in Son of Dathomir. They've slipped out of Vader's grasp twice - he has reason to.

True, but Ahsoka was a "wartime Padawan". In some of the old Legends Clone Wars comics and novels it was mentioned that because of the war and losses the Jedi sustained in the beginning of the war, like on Geonosis where they lost 200 Knights and Masters in a single day, they started promoting younglings to Padawans and Padawans to Knights much sooner than they would normally do, to replace losses and create more officers to lead the Army.

Some of this was even briefly mentioned in TCW in the Kit Fisto episode in Season 1. Lair of Grievous I think it was called.

 

I believe that is still canon.

Anakin was granted the rank of Jedi Knight after his first duel with Dooku. It might have been changed, since the acquisition, but I haven't read anything to suggest otherwise. The Ceremony was abandon due to the Clone War and the Council desperately needed Knights.

 

Ahsoka never became a Jedi Knight. She was cast out of the Order as a Padawan and never returned to it.

Kanan by contrast was a Padawan when the Order was shattered by Order 66. But he returned to his teachings and was eventually was granted the title of Jedi Knight by Grand Master Yoda himself.
