I will sacrifice my lots. Just tell me what you want me to do when you see me online.

I agree with Generic....near Theed? That's fine since I've been getting most of my supplies there anyway.

I agree about the Speeder Bikes. I am so sick of running all over the place :) Oh yeah just to let those know who dont, you can call me Mr. Master Architect:)

Also sorry about no having the Guild done yet, I have had some serious large orders in the last week that took all my time. I am going to try and have the guild done tonight or tomorrow. I have the resources to build it, just not the time :)

Concerning Placement of the Guild I live North of theed as close as you can build to the city, I basically live in the outskirts of a Player City in the Making, Axia you know this is <XXX> teritory, I am going to talk to Icoup the Mayor of that area and see what he thinks about another Guild going up in there. If there is a better place that you can think of placing the Guild let me know, but remember until speeder bike and faster transport comes out, the closer the better to the city.

    Ekul

This was emailed to me by StarWars.com:

Since its debut, Star Wars Galaxies? has become an engaging window into that far-away galaxy for thousands of avid online gamers. Through the massively multiplayer role-playing game, a player creates a unique character in the Star Wars galaxy, and interacts with other player-characters in real-time in a vivid computer-generated 3-D environment. These characters work, play, fight, adventure and live the Star Wars life in a way never before possible.

Such a mix of characters and scenery makes for a rich source of storytelling potential. This December, Del Rey Books will publish an original novel inspired by Star Wars Galaxies.

Voronica Whitney-Robinson is the author of the book, and helping keep her tale true to the spirit and details of the online universe was Haden Blackman, Producer for Star Wars Galaxies. A fellow Star Wars-scribe, Blackman has penned a number of Star Wars comics tales and, most recently, The New Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels.

"Voronica certainly drove the plot, but I was involved to ensure that we were going to the planets that were most interesting in the game, and that we were interacting with in-game characters," he says. "I helped guide her in that specific content, so that the characters in the books are doing things similar to what players would be doing."

Obviously, the planet Dantooine figures prominently in the book, and it's a key world in the game. Beyond settings, though, there are a number of non-player characters from the game that the heroes of the book will meet. "Nym, who is an alien pirate we developed for Star Wars: Starfighter, is in the game. Also, the characters in the book interact with Princess Leia in a similar way that players would: finding her in a Rebel base on Corellia, and getting new information and a mission from her."

It's even possible that some players may spot their own game contributions in the novel. "The book highlights not only the content we provided, but also things the player community has developed as well," says Blackman. For instance, one enterprising player took advantage of the game's creature dynamics, which allow players to control creatures and command them to attack other creatures. "One player actually did that in conjunction with the opening of his own casino in the game, so when he opened, he had this big tournament that he invited everyone to," recounts Blackman. "Voronica took that idea and ran with it, and I think it's one of the first scenes in the book."

Such interaction between novelist and game producer results in creative cross-pollination. Gamers who have read the novel will be familiar with certain elements that will eventually work their way back into the game. The main characters of the novel, Dusque Mistflier and Finn Darktrin, will appear in the game as non-player characters. "If you read the novel, you'll know their back-story and their history, and that will make the missions they give you and the interactions you have with them a little more significant," says Blackman.

He also hints at another element from the novels making an appearance. "In the novel, I suggested that she put in a mutant version of a creature we have in the game, and we're actually going to take that idea and run with it. We'll introduce that creature -- the mutant version of it -- in the game."

Star Wars Galaxies: The Ruins of Dantooine comes out in December from Del Rey Books.

Hello. My name is MoronDude... and this is my story:

Yesterday, I went to Fry's Electronics and bought a new motherboard, a 2.4ghz processor, 512mb DDR RAM, a shinny new videocard, a new power supply (because the fan in my old one didn't work, so I've had a little office fan blowling in the side of my computer for the past year), a 4 way cable modem router, processor fan (which I have to take back because it is too big and my power supply wouldn't fit), and a copy of Star Wars: Galaxies. I spent a total of $461.38. After tearing my computer apart and putting in all the new doo-dads, windows is running way faster... and I have sound again. I installed Galaxies for the heck of it, but won't be able to play until at least Sunday, which is when I am moving in with a buddy of mine who has cable modem (oh, yeah, that was why I needed the router). So come Sunday night (or Monday, whenever I get a chance to sit and play) I will be playing Galaxies! I am so excited... a whole 5 more days to go.

Okay, so, now that I have that out of the way, I wanted you guys to give me some pointers on how to get up and running.

First of all, when you sign on to create a character you want the Ahazi server, that is the one we are all on.

My character on Ahazi is Axia Euxine
I have another I just started on Bria by the name of Deliss Ra'a (In case Ahazi server is down)

Read all about the alien and character types before finalizing your character as some aliens have plus and minuses to certain skills. (Twileks have an entertainment bonus for example)

Do you want to be a rebel or imperial (We are all imperial) but if you are imperial all aliens have a multiplier added to the cost of faction items so its harder for aliens to get faction perks.

Also when you connect you will undoubtably have to download a huge patch seeing as you will have to download all patches since the game launched. (Dont worry the patch download is automatic) But this may take some time

I would also stay far,far away from rifleman, it sucks! I went pistoler on my new character which is 4 days old and I already dropped Rifleman on Axia and am switching to pistoler. Just say no to rifles!

...and welcome to Star Wars Galaxies, you've taken your first step into a larger world....

once in the game type /addfriend axia

then you'll get messages when Im online and when I sign off. If you want to send me a message type

/send axia Hey! The patch only took 9 hours to download

Ask about any questions you may have.

Okay, cool. I'll remember to create on Ahazi. I'm really not planning a combat character for my main one... maybe on another server I will... and as far as Imp or Reb, I'll just see how it goes. If it turns out that to join in on some of the group's activities I must be imp, I'll start going for that. If not, I'll probably stay nuetral. I've been reading over the rules and defintitions for atributes, and I'm probably going for quick and smart. I have my character mostly planned out, but I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise.

It should be easy to get the money for parts since i got my birthday in a few weeks and then christmas so hopefully soon. but for now i can only play at work.

Can anyone tell me where I can find that website that allows you to see what you need to do to get to each level and what you can do at each level. I was messing around with it before, but I can't think of the site anymore. It is set up just like the skill tree in-game. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Also, where should I start out?

it depends on the resources you need. Lets say its a mineral, then you would need a mineral survey tool to survey for those types of minerals. Then you can harvest from the highest concnetration or you can plant a harvester there. (assuming its not in a no-build zone)
