Full Series Official "The Clone Wars" Series Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

If I'm not mistaken (I may very well be) they're in service during the novel Tarkin and the novel Lords of the Sith. This time period would be post ROTS so I've always assumed they weren't available for use during TCW. I'd love to see them on screen as well. We might get lucky enough to see their introduction in the new Vader comic.

 

Just wanted to reassure you that you weren't at all mistaken. V-Wings see heavy use in Tarkin.

 

I am sure if they got a couple more seasons out of TCW then we would have seen them.

Not a fan of the V-Wing....much prefer the V-19 Torrent.

And anyway...did they ever show us what a Q7-Series Astromech looked like?? All we ever knew was it had a dome like an R2-series.

How much does the Clone Wars series inform one's view of the PT?

 

A lot, especially you later seasons. You learn a lot more about the clones, like who ordered their creation and why they obeyed order 66. You witness Anakin's gradual fall the dark side, which makes his actions in Episode III feel a lot more believable. It gives some development to all the background Jedi from the movies who never really did much, like Aayla Secura, Shaak Ti, and Kit Fisto. There are probably lots of other things that could be mentioned, but those are the big ones off the top of my head. I highly recommend you watch the show!

The Clone Wars continues! But in a vastly different style...



This story is way earlier in the timeline than i expected, but i'm good with that. Gives them a chance to evolve towards the later Clone Wars timeline later maybe, and Ahsoka will get her later outfit after she leaves the order. I hope that they use this as a springboard to tell more of the untold Clone Wars arcs, but I hope they extend the episodes to full length. I would only say right now that i'd save the Siege of Mandalore finale arc for fully 3D animated Clone Wars style. But if there's no way they'll ever do that, this 2D version would be a compromise if they can make them longer and more detailed with the backgrounds.

 

I would also love to see Siege of Mandalore fully animated Clone Wars style. I wouldn't mind if they did it in the Rebels animation style either though.

 

I would like to see 2D animation in the future of less known/popular characters, or even new ones. Giving villains the spotlight as well (picture one about Ventress and Dooku pre-TCW).

Maybe 2D animation of a short arc about a Republic Commando squad.

 

Yes, in a clone wars series that isn't canon anymore. Im talking about adding more content through 2d to the new canon.

We need some more Kix action in the TFA time. Just imagine if Boba Fett was still alive and ran into him. That would be a blast from the past.

I really hope that they release the unfinished Clone Wars story arcs in some format in the near future, particularly the wookies and Yoda plot, and definitely the Boba Fett/bounty hunter story arc. Novel form or comic form like Son of Dathomir would be great. I have to think they have some plan for the Boba Fett arc, since they have chosen not to release it yet, and Cad Bane hasn't resurfaced since that plot line, so it must be considered canon.
