Full Series Official "The Clone Wars" Series Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

If Disney somehow figures out how to get over 2 million off each episode I am sure they would consider it.

 

It would generate a lot of good media

 

Just release Siege of Mandalore and then the demand will shoot through the roof.

 

There are cheaper and more efficient ways to do that.

 

The Clone Wars was a great show.

I'm reading the Rogue One companion novel, "Rebel Rising", and early on I was glad that the one gripe I had with R1; namely Saw's character not being given any strong background, was redeemed in some detail as Saw describes to a young Jyn about what went on during the Clone Wars on Onderon relating to the death of his sister Steela. He mentions how a Jedi tried to save her; but couldn't. No hope of naming the Jedi, but I still appreciated the nod nonetheless.

 

This excerpt of the new Thrawn book has a drawing of Hayden in Anakin's TCW costume, it's pretty neat seeing it 'realistically'

With that event happening years earlier from the book 'Rebel Rising' it was probably better that he didn't name Ahsoka. He would have only been around the TCW characters for a short few days so him still being able to recall all of their names years later may have been slightly far fetched.

 

What's interesting is that the Battlefront 2 novel, "Inferno Squad" features

who doesn't mention his own relationship with Ahsoka but like Saw, refers to her as "a Jedi".

Interesting. I was hoping for some Resistance news, but maybe they'll bring something worth discussing.

 

I'm hoping they at least announce a new comic at this panel. I'm not sure they'd want to put so much attention on a show they cancelled unless they were promoting something. At the same time, Disney did let them talk about all the unproduced episodes at a Celebration so I can't say anything for sure.

 

We can only hope.

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't let them.

The show is canon.

 

I think if they have no plans of using Ahsoka in Resistance there is a decent chance the next comic that will be announced will be about Ahsoka. However if she is going to be in it I feel an Ahsoka comic is unlikely as they will want to save all the Ahsoka reveals for the show.

Also think the next ongoing comic will take place post Jedi so I don't see it being a Clone Wars era series

 

I'm sure we'll have Resistance panel too.

 

With atleast 3 SW comic series ending in September, I think it's likely that we will get something TCW related announced at SDCC which is where they usually announce their new comics. The timing matches up and there are space to fill.

 

I'm still wondering if Dave Filoni is holding on to the three untold Ahsoka arcs with the hope that someday he'll be able to restructure them in to an Ahsoka stand alone live action or animated film. He's said in the past that he wanted to hang on to them and find a way to tell the stories, and doing it cinematically in live action or animation is the way they were meant to be told. Although that could be a long ways off if it happens at all.

 

I think Ahsoka's next move, will be that Sabine/Ahsoka adventure, he knows people want that animated series.

 

I really hope they announce something big Clone Wars related, whether it be some episodes or a direct-to-streaming movie...anything! I see it's getting a lot of love at Comic-Con.
