  1. A Message For Everyone:

TCW vs. Rebels debates are not allowed in the Television forum. As in, discussions that descend into TCW/Rebels bashing/gushing will be subject to Mod action. Contrasting the themes, story lines, characters, etc. between the shows is allowed (welcomed, even). "Versus" debates/arguments, however, are a deal-breaker.

That's precisely what I think Sidious will do, and why. And as Togruta said, having Obi-Wan kill Maul is the easy route. I certainly don't think he deserves to kill Maul. I'd never believe that Obi-Wan would give a crap how Maul goes down, just so long as the guy is dead and no longer a threat to the galaxy. Considering the fact that Maul keeps surviving every attempt to destroy him, perhaps someone (Palpatine?) finally wizens to the fact that Anakin should be the one to do the deed. Its about time that Anakin fulfills his role as Chosen One, and starts slaying some Sith. I think Sidious will use Maul to draw Anakin away from anything that prevents him from becoming Sdious' next apprentice. In the end, just another test for Anakin.

Well, I HATED bringing Maul back from the dead - fan service indeed - but he has developed into a creditable threat so I have accepted what I cannot undo and make the most of it.

And cwustudent, I agree that Obi-Wan wouldn't care. It's many of us, his fans, that feel he has been cheated by Maul's resurrection. That's an emotional reaction, as Obi-Wan DID kill Maul for all intents and purposes, and he was knighted IMHO for facing and defeating his anger in order to then kill Maul. So one can argue it hasn't cheapened his story, but then Obi-Wan was so downplayed in his PT duels to the point that many point to him as over-hyped that many of us WANT him to get some of that so-called tarnish off and reclaim his "glory."

I agree with you about Maul. In the end I think he's been a good thing for TCW. I don't think Maul surviving had really changed much for Obi-wan. So he didn't die when Obi-wan bi-sected him like he should have. Obi-wan still defeated Maul at that time. He still has that under his belt. It still makes sense if he were knighted for what happen on Naboo. With Maul alive now it just means Obi-wan has an arc enemy. He may be the only major character currently in TCW with a clear cut arch enemy. That's just like what every good story about a noble superhero needs.

Maul has been good for the show, in-universe... he is a credible threat, no matter how he survived.

    Poor negotiator, more likely.;)

If he was any good at it, they'd all be his friend at the end.

I think Obi-wan deserves a nice vacation on some tropical beach planet with all he has been through between season 4 and 5.

Don't worry about that - he will very soon have a very long time to relax on a planet that's hot, sunny, and full of sand.

With all his blonde (and blue-haired) girl friends (Satine, Siri, Taria) and a nice drink or two or three, shorn of his Jedi robes and comfy in a swimsuit; Holonet reporters banned from the vicinity...

Too bad two of his blonde and blunette girlfriends don't survive to luxuriate with him on his long vacation.

Nobody knows what happens to the third, right? :p
