**Official** - The Cutting Floor

I don't know if there is already a threat to the cut scenes (I couldn't find one), if so forgive me and lock the threat.

Scenes we've read about that haven't been in the movie:

1. Amidala in Senate
2. OB1 disabling the assassin droid
3. Anakin talking about the color of the racer
4. OB1 having the saber-dart examined by droids
5. OB1 talkin with bibliothecary about Dooku
6. OB1 attacked by Mountain beast
7. Anakin slaughtering in the Tusken Camp
8. Anakin and Amidala in Boat at Naboo
9. Anakin and Amidala riding that strange creature on Naboo
10. Boba Fett flying away from Kamino

What more has landed on the floor (and will hopefully reappear on the DVD)?

1. After Anakin and Amidala are captured, Dooku meets with them at the round table and tries to convince Amidala to join the separatists.

2. Mace w/ ob1 at the jedi starfighter before he leaves for Kamino.

3. The line in the trailer "You haven't learned anything Anakin!" -ob1

 

What ever happened to Anakin meditating in front of Padme's bedroom?

 

The meditating is still there.

 

Anakin meditating in front of Padme's bedroom was in the movie.

 

I've seen it twice and I'm pretty sure we never saw Bail Organa say, "we must stop them before they're ready."

 

A LOT of stuff was cut

 

Well Peter Jackson is going to release an UNCUT version of Lord of the Rings on DVD in November I believe. That will make the movie an entire hour longer. (4 hours!)

Hopefully his DVD will do very well ($$$) so Lucas will take the hint and give us a few full-length Star Wars movies with all of the cut scenes included.

 

Best movie I have ever seen.
Being spoiled sucks because you notice all the cuts that are made just for time purposes.Anyone who saw the storyboards knows that Mace Vs Jango was cut down to nothing.I pray that there battle will be expanded on the DVD.

 

Its not too big of a deal to me tha the family scenes, and some little thing slike that were cut. But I would like to see more of the action stuff that was cut on the DVD, that is the kind of stuff I want to see.
Especially and action scene involving Jango, like his fight with Obi-Wan and his fight with Mace.

 

Probably the best decision they made was to cut Padme's excusing Anakin's actions after he kills the Tuskens. I liked how it just cut away as she held him instead of letting it go on.

There is an advantage if you don't watch the trailers and background info too closely:

You do not expect certain scenes to be there, and thus don't miss them.

Rather than harboring negative feelings about the cuts just think about HOW AWESOME THE DVD IS GOING TO BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think George knew what he was doing and wants everyone to pick up the DVD!!!

 

How about some of the duel between Dooku, Obi-Wan and Anakin?

If I'm not mistaken, Dooku was supposed to say, 'Come come Master Kenobi! Put me out of my misery'. He also had some sort of a line where Anakin drives him back and he states how unusually powerful Anakin is, and THEN gets serious.

I felt the Anakin - Dooku duel was way too short, and I seem to remember at least some of the script that I didn't see represented in that duel.

 

I don't know how everyone else feels but I'm so glad that Padmé's scenes with her family were cut. The movie flowed so smoothly without them.

 

I must be late or something, but I thought the Ki-Adi and Plo Koon mission was going to be in the movie?

I found it very awkward when all the Jedi were in the defensive circle, and all the droids stoped firing. Ki-Adi Mundi, Plo Koon and Ayala Secura are seen being led into the jedi circle by droids for some reason.

Was that mission scene ever filmed? I remember seeing the call sheets for it.

And I think Arena battle was heavily edited. (and not just the Mace/Jango battle)

Also Dooku using 2 sabers against Yoda. You can actually see footage of it: here (Part1) and here (Part2)

 

There was supposed to be a part of the Yoda/Dooku fight where Dooku fights with two sabers, I believe.

Isn't there a cut scene in which Jar Jar makes some sort of political speech? It was in the original script at least... and I'm pretty sure it was filmed.

And ANAKIN charges at COUNT DOOKU. The force of his attack catches the Count slightly off balance. Anakin's lightsaber flashes. COUNT DOOKU draws back, putting a hand to his arm. He takes the hand away and looks at the smear of blood where Anakin has nicked him.

Boy, this will also be a great DVD. Go for the full 4 hours, George.

 

They cut the best line of the movie!!!

Padme: "Please dont look at me like that."
Anakin: "Why not?"
Padme: "Because I can see what you're thinking..."
Anakin: "Ahh, so you have Jedi powers too?"

 

I also believe that the Obi vs. Jango fight was cut a little, for instance more hand to hand as in the making of video "good to G.O.", episode II select, and the trailers. I hope the DVD has this full fight scene.

 

In Forbidden Love scene where Anakin says that OB1 is holding him back, Padme says "You're not all powerful." and Anakin replies "Well, I should be." Did I just miss it or did they cut it also?
