I'll never hear the end of it if Gentle Giant doesn't make a Shaak Ti animated statue. My wife will somehow blame me.

I have to agree with the Shaak Ti maquette as this one needs to be made because she was defined in the Clone Wars cartoon. She also kicked alot of behind in that show also and I wouldn't mind seeing a Fisto maquette too.

Gentle Giant previewed unpainted versions of Han and Chewie at Toy Faire this year. They will probably be avaiable for order around November.

However if we never get a Shaak Ti, I am going to be very disappointed.

Thanks to the advice from CrazyMike and the display thread I got one of those glass Ikea shelving units and some lights. The animated figues look sweet in it.

Picked up two more of these yesterday for $50 a piece: Luke and 3PO/Jawa. Now I have three of them here with me in California, and two of them back home in NY (Vader and Leia). Just need to grab a Stormtrooper and the Yoda/R2 at CIV and I'll be caught up with the OT line. That is until GG decides it wants more money from my wallet and releases Han and Chewie [face_worried][face_money_eyes]

The release date for Han and Chewie may be alot earlier than I thought. GG just posted the pic at its sight for Han. Han looks great but this Cuztom Speeder Bike thing they are also releasing looks like crud.

Han looks cool. I'm interested to see what Chewie looks like. Yeah what's up with the oversized head on the speeder bike guy?

    Eh.

Anyone have any luck finding a case to put these in?

IKEA - makes some of the best/cheapest shelving to display stuff on. YOu can even get clear door for Billy if you have something that big.

I got this case from Ikea last week. It's a "DETOLF Glass door cabinet." I also bought some inexpensive lighting for it. Four lights at the corners. You can't really see it in the picture but when just the case lights are on it shines all the way down nice through the glass shelves and gives off a nice ambient light. Good stuff.

Nice setup man, got any other pictures?

I was looking at these but I wanted a little case just for Leia for now.

Seems to me that if you're just looking for an individual case for Leia, I'd look into getting a football case from a local sports/card store. Those seem like they'd be big enough.

Zaxxon, great pictures. I really like the Detolf case you have. I may have to look into that at some point in the future.

I picked up the Leia/R2 earlier this week, and will probably pre-order Han tonight. I can't wait to see Chewie. Nice touch on interlocking the base with the Han maquette.

Thanks! I was going to use this site to get a box made for the vader helmet. www.displaycaseart.com
I've seen the smaller cases on ebay too.

Thanks! I wonder when a picture of the Chewbacca will be out? I can't wait to see it.

    [image=http://home.comcast.net/~w34payton/lighting.jpg]
This is how I set up the lighting. The lighting is also from Ikea and the dimmer switch I got at walmart. The spot light came with a 20 watt but it was too bright with the other 10 watt lights so I replaced it with 10. Now they all evenly dim.

Ahhh the night time look. It looks just classy enough to avoid complaints from my girlfriend for the time being. :p

Those work great. You can try a basketball case also. I have my Barris/Luminara maquette in one.

Here's a treat for Leia fans. I was in London today to go to the Star Wars exhibit that recently opened. I went to Forbidden Planet afterwards and I had my camera so I took a shot of their lifesize animated Leia. If you look next to her you can just make out the regular-sized maquette as well.

Hmm, I think Chewie is so-so, but Han looks perfect in that animated style.

My only real qualm with Chewie is that I think his fur should be more shaggy, especially at the top of his head. Having the top of his head be so streamlined just doesn't look quite right...I would have liked to see more texture there.
