What will Bail Organa's role be in EPIII and how much of Alderaan will we see?

EDIT: Okay, I made this an official thread. Keep discussing, guys. :)

He will have an expanded role... possibly as much speaking as mace had in AOTC. I don't think we'll see much of alderan though... only when padme and leia are concealled there.

I think we'll see the seeds of the rebel alliance starting in episode 3 with bail. He'll be quitly unhappy with the emergency powers and lack of democracy. Bail will probably start recruiting others who share his view...I think he and padme will become friends because of their common views...

Organa looked pretty shookup at the end of AOTC. I'm guessing he will be up for more than just "debating" when EPIII comes around! ;)

i doubt we'll see any seeds of the rebel alliance in episode 3. remeber that the rebels aren't fully formed for 20 years... and that even leia is a senator... i believe most of the populace probably supports palpatine in the begining and those who don't still think political means are the best way to take him down... that all changes of course with the events of ANH.

When Palpatine declares himself Emperor there will be many sourfaced folk that will slink into the background.....thus the "seeds of the rebel alliance".

When you say "Bail Organa", you mean the cheerful fellow that gets destroyed by the flying moon with super duper gun correct?

Palpatine will not start the Rebel Alliance. GL was pretty faithful to the EU during AotC thus giving the idea that Mon Mothma will start the Rebel Alliance inbetween III and IV.

Bail Organa will continue to serve as Senator and First Chairman for the Alderaan system, but his days as Viceroy may end if the Empire is a commercial Empire.

    Bail is not a jedi.

How does the Organa family fit into Alderaan royalty? Anyone know?

if bail becomes a jedi i will burn my star wars collection.

i think palpatine should start the rebellion as darth sidious at the start of the film.

"it was i who let your spies know the where abouts of this FULLY OPERAIONAL battle ship!"

    or something to that effect

yeah but what i was trying to say was that he pulls all the strings it ust came unstuck for him that time because of some hella cool teddy bears.

he could of gave leia indirectly the plans for the first death star, he may have wanted vader as number 2. ok that's totally stupid but i think palpatine is the daddy (no pun indended)

Bail's role will be that of directing Obi-Wan in the Clone Wars. Remember what Leia said in the hologram...

How often do senator's direct actual troops in wars? you don't see john mccain giving orders in afghanastan... more than likely what leia said was figurative. Obi-wan served the republic, which bail was one of the leaders of. If she is to be taken more litterally, he served bail by hiding the twins and perserving a hope for the future.

Could Obi-Wan's serving of Bail Organa be in the form of a bodyguard? He could be assigned to him to act as his protector on a diplomatic mission, much like Anakin being assigned to escort Padme back to Naboo.

I agree that Palpatine should manipulate the creation of the rebel alliance. It will really put a twist on the link between the prequels and original trilogy, and for us to see that so much of the star wars saga is controlled by him.
He certainly likes to be in league with his supposed enemies, and I think that shows true mastership to be able to control both your friends and foe(the naboo - the seperatists - the rebel attack on ds2)

Padme marries Bail Organa as a "front" husband, and changes her name to Mon Mothma.

My understanding of Obi-Wan serving Bail Organa in the Clone Wars has actually become clearer to me based on what I viewed in TPM and AOTC.

From TPM, we see Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan serving Padme/Amidala as being assigned by the Supreme Chancellor Valorum. They start off as Ambassadors, and then they basically become commander types at the end in the battle.

In AOTC, we see Supreme Chancellor Palpatine actually asking to have Obi-Wan assigned for Padme's protection, along with Anakin.

But the best picture of what I saw in AOTC that I think will mirror Obi-Wan serving Bail, is seeing Yoda, Mace, along with Obi-Wan and giving orders to the clones as they attacked.

I think it will be a combination of Obi-Wan being assigned under Bail Organa,(maybe by Palpatine) possibly on Alderaan; whereas he will then be made a General and have command of a regiment of clones.

I think this best fits what was conveyed by Leia's message in ANH:

"General Kenobi, many years ago you served my father(assigned to Bail Organa)in the Clone Wars"

Lastly, I do not think you will see the formation of the Rebellion/Rebel Alliance by the time EP III ends; however I do think we will see and know the persons that will help bring about its inception; and Bail Organa is certainly a key player.

In the case as to how Padme/Amidala winds up going to Alderaan with Leia, and Leia becoming Bail's adopted daughter; I do not think that Bail and Padme have any kind of romantic relationship, nor even a fake one.

Amidala being able to hide with her daughter on Alderaan comes because of Obi-Wan's service to Bail in the Clone Wars. In gratitude for his service, Bail will agree to hide Padme and Leia on Alderaan. Whenever and however Amidala dies, this is when Bail will adopt Leia as his daughter.

    Great post. :)

Since Organa will obviously be head of some sort of army or military force (maybe just the Jedi alone), I wonder where he will operate? Will go back to Alderaan to run his operations like a General Dadonna?

    [image=http://www.sgtfretsurfer.com/Grilled-Sarlacc/c/bail/bail.jpg]

Or will he remain in Coruscant to battle the political storm and lead this army in secret sort of like Chancellor Valorum secretly dispatched the 2 Jedi.
