Uh, uh, negative. We had a reactor leak here now. Give us a few
minutes to lock it down. Large leak...very dangerous.

Enough with the movie quotes. There are lots of JCC threads devoted to them.

I'm sure you guys are already aware of this, but the two Star Wars floats that will be at the Tournament of Roses parade on Jan. 1st will be depicting Naboo and Endor.

Just wanted to pass that along.

    Really? That's awesome, Val!

What aspect(s) of the floats are you involved in? I heard that the parade was set to begin at 8:00am. Is this correct, and I'm assuming it is 8:00am PST, right?

    Thanks.

So back to Star Wars talk. I think Harrison ford might make it to CIV. He seems to be coming out a little more for Star Wars and Indiana Jones type stuff. If you read the Insider this month, he did a signing for a company called coolwaterprod or something like that.
No way and I paying $599.00 for a signed poster. Harrisons signature looks like crap. If it was Harrison Fords signature signed nice and pretty like Jeremy Bulloch, OK, I might consider it......NA! Half my mortgage payment? No thanks! That's like buying the box set of all six Star Wars movies even though I already own all of them 3 x's over.

To answer Justin's question without too much ado, the parade does start at 8 AM Pacific Time. Right now all we are doing is the "dry decorating" (although I did get to paste leaves on a portion of the Naboo float). That means a lot of pounding and cutting and turning live material into a paste that can be painted on.

And despite what some people seem to think, this is relevent to C-IV because Mary Franklin and others from Lucasfilm will be there at the end of the month, and I intend to talk to them about whether they know if there will be any free time to have a FF/501st/RL party. There is also a representative from OfficialPix participating, and I intend to ask about possible attendees. Not that they will probably tell me anything, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Having Harrison Ford (in addition to the other big-name guests) at C4 would be the ultimate capper.

I can only imagine what the lines will be like for his auto...

A little more SW float talk:

Hey Val, remind me to hang out with you during that time!

When are all of them supposed to be around? The 3:00am - 10:00 am shift?

I have to say that it's so cool to live close enough to be involved with working on the floats!!! My little fantasy is that George Lucas, the Man, will show up to take a look at the progress during one of the times I'm there! WOW!! How cool would that be!!![face_dancing]

I'm sure he won't auto. He's too big to sit there and sign autos for 4 or 5 hours. Maybe he'll do a half hour or hour signing, but not an all day or week thing like the others. Mark Hamill usually does that. He'll sign for a couple of hours and that's it.
