I've never seen the inside of the LACC. I might have to rent that movie now.

I am dealing pretty well. I am in my first year of marriage so, as most of you know, my time is pretty much spent apologizing. :)

Congrats on the marriage. Wish you guys the best.

Well, my wife is just as fanatical as I am about SW. So we're BOTH suffering for C4 time withdrawal!

George Lucas gives Calif. university $175 million Tue Sep 19, 9:41 PM ET
    AWWW SNAP!!!!!

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - It helps to have a rich graduate.

"Star Wars" creator George Lucas announced on Tuesday that his private foundation will give his alma mater, the University of Southern California, $175 million to endow and rebuild its School of Cinematic Arts in what amounts to the largest donation in USC history.

The School of Cinematic Arts is the oldest film school in the United States.

"I discovered my passion for film and making movies when I was a student at USC in the 1960s, and my experiences there shaped the rest of my career," Lucas said in a statement.

Dang, slim.. hah! It's very common for someone with his wealth to give that kind of money to their alma mater. You really hate the man, don't you? I bet you nearly gag everytime you start a SW movie and see Lucasfilm at the beginning.

    -GJ

Speaking of money, I think I'm going to give $4.28 to my alma mater. No, I need lunch money. I'll give them the .28 and an IOU for the rest.

I think you are heading down a political and social road you may not want to go down. What extremely wealthy people do with their established fortune from a donation/charity standpoint has been a topic of debate for years and years.

    Ahhh, just let it go.

Great, let me go get my sleeping bag so I can camp outside Walmart until it comes out.

OK, another subject besides DVD releases or Lucas.

Hey, does anyone know why airfare prices are rising?

I think there was a delay of increases because airline companies buy their fuel in bulk WAYYYYYY in advance. At least I heard this.. I have no 1st hand experience. Anywho... gas prices (while on the decrease) are still WAY high and I think it's finally catching up with those who fly the friendly skies.

Clearly to help off-set the cost of the additional airport security personnel and procedures. Couple that with the still-insane cost of fuel, and there you have it.

Well alrighty then. There's the answer I was looking for.

I got my tickets round trip at just under $700.00 for two people. I keep checking and they are up to over $800.00. Even my hotel room is almost $200.00 more than what it would have been had I waited to book it.

My wife and I are flying Southwest, and unfortunately it is still way too early to book flights on their website. So we are gonna get stuck paying a higher price than if we booked our flights the same time we booked our room at the Fig.

Oh well. Just adds another notch or two to the old "C4 Fund".

VK probably posted this on another thread, as she's really on top of things! So, if this is a repeat, I'm sorry!!

Here's a link for a virtual tour of the LA Convention Center. Let's see who gets it memorized first!!

    Hey, Pwinklespspsisisis..

Was just looking over Val's "Hotel Master List" and noticed you at the Omni. I couldn't help but laugh while a song came to my head. A Celin Dion classic that goes a little something like this... "all by myself, don't wanna be, all by myself... anymore."

    HAHAH!

Yeah, she included it on her FORUM INDEX post (top of the list). That's still pretty darn cool though. I love virtual tours. Now, if they could just superimpose 35,000 plus people lining both sides of the walls, we'd get an idea of what it's REALLY going to look like.
