Is Christensens and Portmans delivery as bad as it is in AOTC?

Was Jar Jar really only barely visible in the movie? If so, do you agree that the sole purpose of the character was originally to just sell action figures to kids?

-How do you interpret his change of face as it is presented in the film ?

This whole thing about Qui-Gon and whether he's in ROTS or not, really is getting annoying now.

I know. Pablo was asked to clear it up a few weeks ago, and just said "someone else will answer that before me." Who and when? The mystery continues. My guess is maybe he's only in the digital cut, but it's just a guess.

 

I thought this thread was meant for questions about the movie and such if you have SEEN the movie? Not asking questions about the movie if you have not seen it yet...oh well.

 

I'm confident about Darth_Toe_Jams review tomorrow night. But as for this flood of early reviews, I really don't know what to make of it all....

At least Crumbsilcious stayed to answer questions. Thats always an encouraging sign.

 

For those who've seen it:

1. Music - which scene has The Music we'll be humming or which has the most impact in a purely audio way?

2. Lava Surfing - Yea or Nay? Give us your honest opinion of it - all as plot device, action sequence, and CGI FX

3. Palps' seduction of Anakin - is it visually and dynamically as powerful as one would think?

I used to like Qui Gon. Now it seems his name alone is starting to give me an involuntary eye twitch...

You have to consider that he saw the movie in German, so Liam Neeson's voice wouldn't be required (which is the only reason the scene may not be in the US release). And Anakin could easily have lines dubbed over him. Unless Hayden speaks German.

Hey, dubbed versions are translations of the actual screenplay. They do not add things like that ! They make mistakes, misinterpret a few things (I live in France), but they do not rewrite the shooting script !

The Qui-Gon scene was in the shooting script, and the scene was rendered and all of the lines were read by Frank Oz. The only missing component was Liam Neeson. When he was out, the scene was cut. This scene may have been finished even last year, with voices read and everything.

I don't think it's a huge stretch for Lucasfilm to include this scene in the overseas version, because it is important to the plot, it's already been shot and the voices were read (which would include "German Qui-Gon").

And, many times, in foreign movies, lines are read with different literal meanings. Maybe they took a line Anakin said elsewhere and changed it to something that worked better with the scene.

 

For once can somebody describe the Palpatine vs 4 Jedi scene in detail. Not just "he kills 3 Jedi masters in 2 seconds flat".

Who is the EU character in the film? Is it our old buddy Quinlan Vos or someone else?
