*OFFICIAL THREAD* Tarkin in Ep3 Discussion

The fans knew. Lucas didn't have to put Tarkin into the movie at all. He did that in much the same way he used Bail in AotC, or Mace in PM. Just a simple way to introduce, or in this case merely present a character to be featured later.

No, they didn't. None of my friends caught it, and the ones I went to see it with are all fans. The only reason I caught it was because I saw the spoiler pics on here. Like I said, Lucas should've shown him more prominently.

 

For what purpose? I mean, we barely saw a suited Vader, yet we needed more Tarkin? Not IMHO.

 

If your friends didn't notice him, that is because they were in such awe of the 10 minutes before that and they just weren't paying attention. You clearly see his face and I know plenty of non-spoiled fans who noticed Tarkin.
