You ever heard of the Atlantic Wall? That's right, we'll probably need a network of bunkers, machine gun nests, naval mines and coastal artillery to resist an invasion by the Puerto Rican fleet.

 

What's this I hear about Santorum banning porn? This is somehow a new level of insanity in my observation of the US elections...

 

"America is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography," Santorum's official website reads. "Pornography is toxic to marriages and relationships. It contributes to misogyny and violence against women. It is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking."

The former Pennsylvania senator states that, "as a parent, I am concerned about the widespread distribution of illegal obscene pornography and its profound effects on our culture."

Santorum criticized the Obama administration for turning "a blind eye ... to the scourge of pornography" and for refusing to enforce obscenity laws.

"If elected President, I will appoint an Attorney General who will do so," Santorum writes. "While the Obama Department of Justice seems to favor pornographers over children and families, that will change under a Santorum Administration."
Santorum is not the first presidential candidate to take up the obscenity issue. In July, Michele Bachmann signed a pledge vowing her support of a constitutional amendment that, among other things, called for a ban on all pornography. (It also effectively called for a ban on same-sex marriage.)

 

How's he plan to enforce it? By a campaign of mass hypnosis?

I admit he does have a point, but he might as well turn off the sun to stop skin cancer.

I generally hate those things, and find them irritating beyond belief. But I'll give credit to that for clever lines like "on the floor//I don't care about the very poor."

So let me get this straight: America manages to successfully avoid having ridiculous obscenity laws and a "serious" contender for President actually wants to bring them in?!

So what's next for Santorum? Maybe he'd like to pass a law requiring you to pray three times a day, read your Bible daily, and partake in communion each month?

 

Well apparently there's a video of Santorum nodding in agreement when his priest said that all non-Christians should just leave the country if they don't want a government based on Christianity.
