Hey all! Another thread to keep things rockin!

I sent in my e-mail the instant it was announced and was probably number 20 on her list! Have you been part of the crew before? Are you going to again? Have some good stories to share to get us pumped?*

For those who will be 'first timers', don't worry, they will have the application for your Rebel friends soon enough, but for us 'Vets', let's get the party started!!

*Yes, we know that the actors are 'human' (or even as jawas, wookiees, doids or what not, still have human qualities, or close enough!) but out of respect for the fact that A) they are still Guests of Celebration and Official Pix, and B) People don't need to have their idea of a person they may only meet for 30 seconds 'ruined'. Even if you have a 'disagreeable' opinion of one of the Guest, this aint the place! (Yeah, this includes yours truly!).

    Focus on the positive!

To wit - these are only PAST guest - no idea or promises that they will be there, but we can hope!

Dan Logan - OMG! He is such a comedian! You gotta watch out for him - at C-3, after a brief lunch, he went and stood in his own line and started ragging on "What a Jerk that Dan Logan is! Keeping us waiting!" - it took people a couple moments to realize it was him!

Tem Morrison sang to the volunteers at the close of c-3

Mark and Carrie are genuine sweethearts, and E-woks ROCK!

I heard a tale about how during Jedi, one of them had to pop a Stormie on the head with a foam stick, and the guy couldn't feel or hear it, so they gave a REAL stick to the actor, and he was told "Hit him as hard as you can!" Guy got knocked out cold by an Ewok!!! [face_laugh]

    Share!!!

I attended II and III...some of the memorable meetings were Bai Ling...she was very...intresting to say the least, i asked about her bit in playboy and such, she had no shame.......lol!

then Zack Jensen (i think that was his name) Kit Fisto him and his brother were there, they were really nice, he was filming survivor or something at the time and he had theese crazy dreads..kinda ironic really...lol but a very nice guy.

Daniel Logan is a great kid when i saw him at CIII we were joking about how much he had grown, said his mom feeds him good...lol

Mat Wood (grevious voice) is a really nice guy as well. actually took decent time with each person.

Ray Park suprised me!...i heard he was a bit of an ass, but turned out to be a really nice guy.

Tem Morrison was very nice too, ran into him in einstein bagel co. very nice guy.

Billy Dee, didnt even look up during signing, his agent handled everything...and was very rude at that.

Bonnie (young aunt beru) was really nice.

the actress who played Zam Wessel, during CIII she actually left earley due to lack of intrest..

thats about it..Amy Allen was nice...the rest were nice, but kinda tired of cons i think.

Ray's always been a sweety - as for Billy Dee, from what I understand, he was VERY VERY sick... Didn't he end up going to hospital? At least he put forth an effort...

Remember, please keep it focused on the positive - I'm sure we all have a few stories about a less than thrilling experiences (I can think of one person who I'll never be able to look at in the same way again, which is sad because said same was a childhood 'hero') but in the interest of keeping things on track, please don't name names.

I went to my first celebration with C4 and was told by my friends who have volunteered before that its a blast so i did. first i sat with Matthew Wood who did the voice of Grevious and he would do the voice for every kid that came up it was really cool. Then i sat with Harold "Howie" Weed who played the wampa. We sat and talked about graphic design the whole time lol it was cool he gave me lots of tips about getting in the field. Then i sat with Barrie Holland who of course had the famous line "you rebel scum" he was really interesting we sat and talked outside for an hour about england and his different travels he was a really interesting man who had alot of cool stories. And i had the honor of sitting with my favorite jedi period....hands down.... Zac Jensen "kit fisto" He was a really laid back and awesome guy. as soon as he heard i was in school for graphic design we talked forever about it lol. He even gave me a card...i couldn't believe it.

i cant wait for this year soooooooo many more memories to have.

I really enjoyed the time I spent volunteering last time. Spending 3 hours chatting with Bruce Spence who is someone I've always respected in the Oz TV/film industry was great, as was the ragging on US food and service compared to being back here at home.

That said I'll probably not volunteer this time around. Has nothing to do with anything other than planning and time constraints for the week. I still encourage everyone else to sign up for a shift or two. It can be a great experience.

I've been to all four celebrations and hoping (knock on wood) to go to C5. I volunteered for Official Pix two years in a row and I probably do it again...as long as I can attend.

All the memories I had was good. I did a bit of sitting with the stars and helping out elsewhere. One of the stars played an ewok (forgot his name unfortunately), but he was such a nice and funny guy. We didn't have much in common, but he kept me entertained when he wasn't busy signing. I was very sad to depart when my shift was over.

Crap, I worked for OP at C3 and C4 and I haven't gotten an email yet. I really want to do this again! It was awesome!

I sat with Jerome Blake, who is really sweet and a flirt, that was at C3

Also at C3, had a bad run in with the wife of a celeb, who wasn't showing her badge, and I stopped her from going into an area I was supposed to keep people out of. She was really rude about the whole thing, like I was supposed to know who she was. I'm sorry, your hubby is famous, not you. Moral of the story, look harder for the VIP badge?

C4 I sat with Femi Taylor, who is a doll!

I worked a little bit @ C3, Was able to meet Steve Sansweet, & finally made it into the store to get my Vader figures!! Thats when I learned working these things was way cool! C4 I signed up to work 4 days, and had the time of my life! Sat with & ran into tons of actors and various celebs! Missed most of the lines to all the shows, panels, and events so I was able to see everything I wanted to! Not to mention all the swag OP gave us for working a full schedule. I'm working C5 too!! Being a part of the event & not just going to it kicks A** !!!!

Oh yeah, my husband and I worked the very last shift of the entire con, and they gave us each a full set of ALL the unsigned photos they had in stock. Great for costume research! Not that they will do that again, but it was a nice gift for staying til the end.

I volunteered for both C3 and C4 and had a fun time doing both shows. I did not get an email for C5 and am a little perturbed over not getting one after doing the same work for the last two events.

I also checked O Pix's site and haven't seen any sort of announcement there either, what gives?

Send an e-mail to OP directly, expressing interest - or just wait for the official call.

Hey JedHead1, FYI. I was just watching an old tape of the G4 coverage of C4, and I just noticed Anthony Daniels made a real quick mention of someone having a birthday there. Dont know if it's on Youtube, but it may be worth a quick search. I assume it was your bro. Pretty cool!

I volunteered at C3 and at the 2009 Fan Days in Plano. I had a fantastic time each time. During C3, I helped out Tem Morrison and he has a great time. He was warm and friendly with the fans and was happy to take pictures with them. I also was a floor manager during the last shift and it was pretty busy, but well worth the time, if you're interested.

At Fan Days I was in the Clone Wars signing room and helped out James Arnold Taylor, Cat Tamber and Matt Lanter. All very cool people and JAT knows how to help the kids have fun and help people feel not so nervous when they meet the actors.

I'd definitely recommend that you volunteer for OP as Anne is a great person and a fantastic organizer. Be sure to be flexible and to be open to who you get assigned to and what time(s). You may want to go to some panel during your volunteer hours, but when else would you be able to sit and chat and help out a SW alumni? I plan on volunteering again for OP for C5 when I get the email.

Never volunteered for Official Pix, but I have met several of the folks they sponsor for Celebration and Comic Con. Honestly, I haven't had a bad experience with any of them. Last summer I got to meet pretty much the whole cast from CW and they were all cool. Ashley Eckstein was very friendly. Also got to meet Mark Hamill and he couldn't be nicer; even if people just walking by wanted to say hello or take a quick picture, he was cool with it. I met Ray Park in '08 and he was really sweet and I met Jake Lloyd at Celebration IV. Nice kid with a power grip handshake :).

I volunteered for OPX at CIV, and would do it again in a heartbeat. I had to work the ropes for 1 day, and was scheduled as an escort for 3 days. Sitting with the guests tapped into some of my past Disney experience, and it was a great way to get to know the guests a little, and also score a ton of bonus autographs.

I was under the impression that OPX wasn't part of CV, and that Reed Exhibitions was handling the autograph area themselves. If OPX is involved, count me in!
