Ok, so ya'll twisted my arm

Just a quick note so ya'll can gloat.

I went to the library to pick up as many of the Harry Potter books they had in. Got the first two and I'm half through the first one. Can't put it down. Later.

yes why not Paul? Mornin' all. Still drunk from last night. I am fast turning into an alcoholic. 4 days in a row now, not even waking up with a hangover, just thirsty.

 

I aint touching the stuff again...especially not on a school night.

 

Its a pile of poo, to be polite, a cheap rip off of a book that a Lady in the states wrote 1 year before Harry Potter came about.
She may changed a few things in it, like the creation of a Wizard school, but the same stuff is there including the name. Also it breaches about 75 copyright laws but I wont get into that.

 

Well that's what I keep saying, but Firday I went on a leaving do, and I haven't really stopped since. I am genuinely worried to be honest. But today, pleassssseeeee, we must keep posting, or I will fall asleep. I'm struggling right now. Got in at 1.30 last night.

 

Yes but Paul, do you know how many books are written that someone else can claim they had the idea first? Or had written something similar first?

The problem is that the other author was jealous of the popularity of the HP books and wanted to make trouble and cash in.

This was never substantiated.

No way shall I be reading that over rated (i like that) tosh thats called a book, I shall contunie to read my 3D Max book instead

 

me brother in law is a teacher and he bought them from a school book club. All the hardbacks in a slipcase for £25! He said he will get me them next time they are on offer at the bookclub. If they ever are. I'm going to borrow all of his in the meantime.

Anyways, you really don't know what you're missing. Cass will back me up on this cos I was seriously sceptical before Cass and Jon made me read them! Despite my love for Tom Clancy or Steve Coontz style stories, Harry Potter has just become my favourite thing in the entire world!

Now...what if someone claims they wrote 3D Max (or whatever the heck that is) before whomever wrote the book you're reading right now and caused a big fuss? Would you stop reading the book?
