I could sworn you were on there! I usually add the mods of the forums I regular in.

Except JCC. They change mods too much.

Anyone know where I can get a driver so DOS will recognize my cd-drive so I can play TIE Fighter?

Well, I just got DOTT working flawlessly. I have Win2k and I ran the ScummVM GUI and put in DOTT with all the options I want and started it up and it worked fine. I did copy the CD to the hard drive first, don't know if you're suppose to or not, but I did.

I know that's not much help to you if you're running XP. I might try it out tonight under XP if I get a chance, no promises though.

jp, if we weren't both male, I would kiss you. Even so I might. :D

I finally got DOTT. I LOVE THIS GAME. Second problem has arisen though.

During the cutscenes, everyone has voices, talks, etc., but during the actual game, it only gives me text. Are there voiceovers for the ingame words, or just the cutscenes? If not, what am I doing wrong? How do I get them to actually have sound?

    [face_love] to you too.

In the game setup menu, that you access in-game, there should be checkbox(es) for "voice / subtitles" etc - pick the obvious settings if they're not already established.

LEC in-game menus are usually located via F1, F5, F9 or maybe Esc.

The only options in the menu are: Master Volume, Music Volume, SFX Volume, Subtitles On/Off, and something about a Palette.

    ?[face_plain] Suggestions?

Make sure all the above are on. You have got the CD verison, not the floppy disc version, right?

Yeah, I have the CD version.

Amiga Palette just makes the colors go all wrong. All of the rest were checked, and still no go. I'm lost. :(

    What numbers do you have to the right of the options for;

    Master Volume
    Music Volume
    SFX Volume

    ?

Also, are you getting sound (music etc) out of both your speakers, or just one?

    Master Volume = 192
    Music Volume = 192
    SFX Volume = 192

    Show Subtitles = Checked
    Amiga palette coversion = Unchecked

And I have music coming out of both speakers.

Well, when I play with my SFX setting, 0 has no voice audio, 192 is default & 255 is max.

It may be to do with the digital sound emulation in XP. Maybe try VDMsound.

Can you turn off the digital sound emulation in XP? Make it do analog instead or something? I don't know and I haven't been able to try it out yet.

Odd. I have the old CoMI, and that doesn't have speaking either. I'm baffled.

This has turned into another "technical help" thread. :p

It was a 'tech help' thread from the outset.

I was sure I replied yesterday.

Anyway, have you triple checked your soundcard / volume settings to make sure that all the channels are selected / not set to Zero?

Also there may be a command line switch that forced digital sound to be enabled. I'll take a look later.

Two things, one if your sound doesn't work for dos games on a windows nt or above computer, download the sound blaster emulator called vdms sound which can be found at www.dosgames.com. If that is wrong just pm me.

Second, I cannot play rebel assault one or two on my xp comp cause lucas arts is being crappy and says dos games will just not work. Is there a fix ANYWHERE I can get?
