Yay Dooku's good again! I think....

Poor people on Coruscant. The Death Star's gonna blow them all up! lol.

Cool post yodaminch.

 

It was cool that Dooku turned back to the light side. Something must be done to save Coruscant from the Death Star. What is going to happen?! It's good to be reading this fic again.

shadesaw- The key to a good story is continuely trying and branching out. Many of my stories flopped. This one is the only one that really took. I've locked three stories and never continued them. One story is on hiatus. And another is being completed only for my website. My best advice would be to keep trying.
Satoshi- I guess it is kind of funny that they are gonna be blown up, but I doubt they think so.

Just so you all know it was whether or not to turn Dooku that gave me trouble. Real life made that decision take longer. In the end I think this was a good move, a battle between Master and Apprentice.

Chapter 28

Kit Fisto and his squadron of Starfighters followed
the Jedi Council's fighters on a run at the Federation
battle ship. Kit watched as the other star fighters distracted
the ships while the councilors along with a few others
piloted themselves into the open ship's hangar.

" You'd think after Naboo They'd learn to close the
door" Kit thought, referring to Anakin Skywalker's
destruction of the federation battleship by landing in
the hangar. Kit activated his comm unit.

"This is General Fisto. All fighters and gunships
are to deploy and concentrate all fire on the
Seperatist forces. Do NOT under any circumstance
attack the Federation Control ship."

Kit settled into his seat and headed into the hangar
after the Council.

Bail Organa stood outside the Senate Chamber
among a crowd of panicked citizens and reporters.

"We have recieved word that the Death Star's shields
have been activated and that its lasers are now locked
on Coruscant. There is nothing that anyone can do.
All available ships rescue and battle are in orbit above us.
We must pray and hope that the Force is with us.
We must reley on the Army of the Republic and the
strong leadership of the Jedi Order. We must stand
strong and support our army. Those men and women
are risking their lives above us in the hopes that we
might survive this attack. I tell all of you to return to
your homes and be with your families. Now is the
time to be strong and stand together during this crisis.
It is not the time for panic or self pity. We must have
faith that this crisis will be abated. We must have hope
that the Death Star will be destroyed. Go home to your families
and loved ones. Go about your day at home as you would any
other. There is nothing you can do. Why should you trouble
yourselves worring. Live this day as if it is your last, because
it very well could be. I have suspended all news networks
and programming. No more coverage on this will be allowed
go home. Play a game. Read to your children or yourself. Watch
your favorite holo. Know this: Even if the Seperatists succeed in
destroying Coruscant, the Republic will live on. The Jedi will
still be protectors and the army will still fight. We will not give up.
We will win this war. No Death Star can destroy the heart of the
Republic. No weapon can destroy its ideals. The Republic will
live to fight another day and the Seperatists will be stopped.
May the Force be with us all. Good Day citizens of the Republic."

Bail walked of the podium and toward the Senate building. Applause
and cheering were heard outside.

Dooku stood in a fighting stance perfectly calm.
Palpatine on the other hand was furious. He charged like a
mad bantha sweeping and slashing as he ran. Dooku
expertly blocked each blow with little energy.
Palpatine soon stopped this manuever and started
to match Dooku's blows. Dooku started increasing
his blows with more fury. His green blade was
a twirling blur while his red blocked Palpatine's
attacks.

Yoda furiously tried to move the large metal
blocking him from the ongoing battle and his
comrades. Finally giving up trying to
cut it, Yoda deactivated his saber and sat
on the floor. He raised his arms and imagined
moving the metal out of the way.

Yesh had gotten up and was examining debris
that blocked his access to Yoda and Dooku.
Aayla had sat up. Padmè was rubbing her head.
Yesh clipped hi blade to his belt, said
"Prepare to attack" and sat down.
The large debris lifted in the air and made a
path to the fight between Dooku and Palpatine.

TK-421, Commander of the Republic rescue ship,
Valorum watched as a starfighter plummeted
toward Coruscant.

"Lock on to that ship before it hits Coruscant and

Great post! Bail had a nice speech about how civilians should enjoy the rest of the day because it could be their last. I can't wait to see how the battle progresses.

 

I loved Bail's speech! Very good what he said.

I think Palpatine's in big trouble if Yesh and Aayla can now get to him, haha. Looks like a 4-on-1 battle.

 

Great story so far. Just did a complete reading.

 

Wow! Dooku turning all nice again? I missed that one! Hooray for Qui Gon! Go on, big man! Get tore into that Palpy! belt him one for me! Hope the others can get to him and give him a hand...

"Don't listen to a foolish ghost"? Bad move, Palps. That's Dooku's beloved ex padawan you're talking about...

Bail's speech was great. Heart breaking and full of truth. This could be our last day - go home and be with the ones you love.

I liked bail's speech, it was very good. & I think the battle is progressing very well.

 

Great speech by Bail, and a nice beginning to the battle between Dooku and Palpy. That fighter wouldn't have been Anakin's, would it???

Chapter 28

Yoda moved the metal toward the ground
and opened his eyes. He saw Yesh with
his double yellow bladed saber, Aayla
and Padmè all in attack position.
Yoda looked over and saw why. Hundreds
of battledroids were now making their
way into the hangar. Yoda knew what
he had to do. He ignited his saber and
leapt past Dooku and Palpatine's fight
and plunged into the middle of the droid
line taking out five droids at a time.
He saw the twin yellow flashes of Yesh
overhead. and the blue flash of Aayla.
Dooku was on his own now. Yoda was
confident in his former padawan's abilities
but he knew Palpatine too was a worthy
opponent.

Flashes of blue and green were all that
Lot Dodd saw. The green and blue broke way
to make room for one violet flash,
Jedi Master Mace Windu made his way
to the bridge followed by his fellow councilors,
Plo Koon,Adi Gallia,Saesee Tiin, Depa Billaba
and Shaak Ti. Also present were Jedi Masters
Kit Fisto, Quinlan Vos, Tholme, The Dark Woman
and A'shared Hett.
Below Lot Dodd lay the remains of droids. Only
the neimodian stood on the bridge to face the jedi.
His comrades had flown.
Windu approached the neimodian and extinguished his
saber.
" As General of the Army of the Republic, I hereby command
you to lower the shield generator protecting the Death
Star."
"As a member of the Sepertists, I must demand your
surrender." Lot Dodd replied

Hundreds of destroyer droids appeared.
The jedi burst into action and started to battle the
droids.

Palpatine was tiring. But so was Dooku. Attacks
were becoming sloppy. It was only a matter
of time before the battle ended. Dooku parried
and thrust. He aimed his green saber low and hit
the hilt in Palpatine's left hand. Palpatine released the
hilt and dooku swept it in half. Palpatine furious launched
his saber at Dooku in a furious attack. Dooku caught
aback deflected as many attacks as he could but his red blade's
hilt was cut in two by Palpatine's red blade. Now each
man had one blade.

Unfortunately for Bail Organa, he had no family
to go to. They were safe and sound on Aldaraan.
Bail could not make contact with them. He worried
at what might be going through their minds.
Many Senators remained in the Senate
building as they two had no one to go home too.
Mon Mothma and Garm had stayed and monitored
the battle. Bail managed to get a hold of the Temple.
He only learned that the attack was stopped and
a prisoner was slated for interregation.
Bail tried to keep working but could not. He had
named his successor for Supreme Chancellor. A man
currently offworld, a Senator from Mon Calamari named
Ackbar. Bail finished up some paperwork and transferred it
to Mon Calamari. At least faxes still worked. Suddenly
it came to Bail. He got a piece of flimsiplast and started
to write to his family. He finished and sent it to Aldaraan.
Bai then looked outside toward the sky. May the Force
be with us

 

Ackbar the future Supreme Chancellor? Hey, why not! He's a great guy.

 

The speach that Bail gave was well written, it did not lie, nor did it give false hope, but it gave some hope and reminded the people that they still had their loved ones and that they should treasure the time they had left with them. It was a speach to inspire calm and strength and to bind the the people together.

Ackbar + Future Supreme Chancellor = Cool with me! (Though sad that Bail may die. )

To all those interested in the story of Yesh and Yoda, I have started to write the story. The thread can be found here.
Currently only the prologue has been written.

 

Sorry 'bout being a little late in posting. It probably seemed like a good idea for all those Jedi to board the Federation ship, but did anybody consider what would happen if the ship blew up? You'd lose pretty much the entire Council. As I said, possible, but not real likely. Most Nemoidians don't have the guts to destroy their ships to avoid having them fall into enemy hands.

I think Ackbar is perfect as the Supreme Chanceller. I liked how the battle was going.

 

Love how Dooku's able to stand up against Palpatine! And Bail writing to his family, that was nice that he was able to do that.

Well that's odd. The post didn't come with replies. I could have sworn I pasted it. Well seeing as how no one viewed. I'll just UP this with the post.
Chapter 29

Plo Koon Leaped at the mass of Super Battle Droids, his
blue blade turning the nine droids into scrapmetal. Likewise,
Saesee Tiin flung a dozen Destroyer droids at the wall smashing
them to pieces. Mace Windu and Depa Billaba had emersed themselves
in Vaapad, form 7 of lightsaber forms, and the two easily dispached with
30 battle droids. A'shared Hett's two lightsabers moved in a contant motion
as he and the Dark Woman dealt with Super Battle Droids. Kit Fisto and Ki-Adi
Mundi deflected fire back at several Destroyer Droids. Adi Gallia and Shaak Ti
flung droids all across the room, making Lot Dodd duck every so often. Tholme
through all the chaos had snuck up on the neimodian and a green lightsaber
hovered under the Neimodians neck.

"Call them off before someone gets hurt" Tholme said.

Aayla leapt toward the Super Battle Droids,
bringing her saber around in an arc and destroying
five droids as she landed. Yoda and Yesh were in the
air constantly there movements a blur. It looked
like fireworks. Padmè unleashed a constant volley
of shots at the battle droids. It was clear that
Dooku was on his own. Aayla cringed as she
saw Dooku's red saber being destroyed.
She could also feel Yoda's distress as the
blade was destroyed. Aayla battled the droids
with a new ferocity in the hopes that she would be able
to help Dooku.

Senator Ackbar of Mon Calamari sat at his
desk watching the Mon Cal news. The Holonet
had effectively been shut down by the Chancellor.
A beeping alerted the Senator that he was recieving
a fax. The Senator reached his webbed hands to grab
the pice of paper and saw the seal of the Supreme Chancellor
on top. He read:
From the Desk of the Supreme Chancellor:

I, Supreme Chancellor Bail Organa hereby announce
my choice for my sucessor. Due to the seriousness of this
matter, I have used emergency powers granted to my
predessecor to halt a vote in the Senate. In the event
that the Seperatists succeed in destroying the Capital
planet, the new capital's location will be the planet
of Chandrilla, as per the orders of Senator Mon Mothma.
My Successor shall have the duty of building a new Jedi
Temple and Senate building. The new Chancellor will also
have the duty of reforming the Senate as they see fit. They
will also be in charge of the Grand Army of the Republic.
I have named my successor: Senator Ackbar of Mon Calamari.
I leave the Republic in his capable flippers.

Ackbar gasped. If Coruscant was destroyed, he would
have the massive duty of building the Republic.
What was Organa thinking! Had the stress of events
on Coruscant affected his judgement? Ackbar knew that wasn't
true. Bail had chosen him because he was the most capable
person to do it. Ackbar would not fail the Republic.

Both combants were not young. This battle
was becoming a stalemate. The first to weaken
would lose. Neither man had any intention of losing
not while the fate of the Republic hung in the balance.
So their duel of death continued. Parry thrust, Parry, thrust
and so on. Green against Red. The two men were
completely focused. One filled with the Dark side of the
Force, the other emerged in the Light side. The Master
and former Apprentice saw nothing but the other's attacks.

On the bridge of the Death Star, Commander Tarkin
counted down until the destruction of Coruscant.
One hour to go.

Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Other Jedi continued to
distract fighters from the Shield ship.
The Jedi's losses were heavy and the enemy
made it hard for rescu
