    Inception's ending brought the groanage.

I remember that. Midnight showing and the top is spinning. Fade to black and as one the entire audience let's out a groan. [face_laugh]

Him bursting into flames was okay, what was a major "WTF?!" moment for me is the way he ran madly allll the way from Rath Dínen to the "prow of the ship" cliff and jumped off. That was just ridiculous.

Not really, burning to death is the worst way to die so he jumped off the cliff to quickly make his death painless

Except it wasn't just the quick jump, it was the long run before that. Rath Dínen is all the way at the other side of Minas Tirith. THAT was ridiculous.

You'd think there would have been water somewhere between Rath Dinen and the cliff, especially given the place has horses.

He should've remembered to stop, drop, and roll, not stop, drop, and fall thousands of feet.

It's easy to critique the actions of someone on fire when you're not on fire.

What if we would both be on fire?

Previous interviews said that it would be the same length or shorter than AUJ, but they probably still cutting the movie, we should probably know something by the time of the premieres (end of November)

For anyone that might be wondering if the new movie will be in 48fps we did testing at work this week to make sure our equipment was ready to show it in 48 fps.

I'm glad about that, I /really/ liked the 48 FPS...

I thought it went without saying that all three Hobbit films would be in 48 fps 3D (in those cinemas that are capable of showing that, obviously).

I have to admit I sometimes baffled by the CGI hate. I mean "you can't use pretty CGI to cover up for a bad story" I can understand (if not necessarily agree with - I can enjoy a painting without a story, so why can't I appreciate CGI artwork regardless of story), but people seem to be saying that having CGI all makes a movie suck.

    Who is saying that?

Gravity is practically nothing but the actors' faces composited into a vast digital landscape. Yet it is the greatest achievement in the history of cinema.

I saw a 3D trailer attached to Gravity, and oh my God did it look *****ing awful. The image appeared as though there were cardboard cutouts set at various distances from the camera. I can't believe it was actually filmed with 3D cameras. Looks like one of those post-production hack jobs. Definitely seeing 2D.

Ever hopeful, I'll once again be trying it in 48 fps 3D. It didn't work at all for me and in fact pissed me off to watch it that way the last time, but I've got to give it a try just for the outside chance that I will see an improvement.

The 48 fps didn't seem to make all that much of a difference, and it was my first experience with "quality" 3D ( I'm looking at you, Spacehunter ).

Only a couple 3D scenes really wowed me in AUJ:

-The Dwarven mines in the prologue.
-Sparks flying from Bilbo's chimney after the Dwarves' song
-When one of the Dwarves breaks his axe on a troll's leg and the pieces fly at the camera.

The rest of the time the 3D effect was just distracting.

Yeah, in any scenes with a hearth or fire the rising embers/sparks looked cool in 3D.
