Wow! I have no words to convey just how awesome that is...

Edit: Oh shut up, Everton. As a LEGO set it's super badass. Santa is planning to purchase that.

I have no words to describe what a wasted opportunity that is. Except the words I've already used.

Then build a better one. That's the beauty of LEGO.

Edit: Actually I can kinda see what you're saying, in terms of the opportunity to create an uber-detailed colossal set like they did with the B-Wing fighter, but this is way more marketable.

Marketable, yes. But if they ever produced a tower set I'd always hoped for an Ultimate Collectors Series type thing. Not that I'd ever buy it... but I would like to look at pictures. This is more of a play set. Disappointing.

Splendid interview of Armitage by The Vine. There's a lot of interesting quotes in there, but my favourite is probably this one:
Thorin the Cossack? Somehow the image fits quite perfectly, I must say. I'll have to watch the movie again with that evocation in mind.

As a side note, the Russian bass is perhaps the one voice guaranteed to make me shiver with the sheer evocative power of its vibrations, bar none. So listening again to the Misty Mountain song with that added depth of interpretation (make a pun of that if you wish) is going to be most impressive. Mahal take me, but I may combust on the spot!

And to compare, here is a video of a trio of Russian bassi profundi. Imagine that spoken in Khuzdul, if you will...

    Cheers,
    Lauré :)

OMG, Russian Orthodox Church music (especially the deep resonant bassi) = [face_love] [face_love] [face_love]

Another interview of the majestic Richard Armitage, by Popcorn Taxi.

I'm always floored by how articulate he is in his answers, and how he never seems to repeat the same thing, even though he must have been asked the same question about a thousand times. Frankly, the Hobbit production could not ask for a more devoted ambassador.

    A couple of favourite quotes:
As a side note, I can't wait to see the Battle fo the Five Armies (ten weeks of re-shoots - yay!), and I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for that convo between Steven Colbert and Philippa Boyens... And I have a feeling Armitage is far too humble about his knowledge of Middle-Earth lore.

    Cheers,
    Lauré :)

Except that the Misty Mountains are probably on her back, because this is the western part of Middle-earth. :p These are the Blue Mountains.

Although, you could probably make a case of sailing down the river Lhun to Grey Havens... [face_whistling]

You mean the pick-ups; the regular shooting had already finished (all three films were filmed in one go, just like LOTR).

Yes, of course. Still, it's good news, and means that we're that much closer to seeing a trailer...

Well, PJ did promise us a trailer "in summer", and it's already mid-May... :)
