Have they changed TBOTFA back to TABA yet?
No, and they won't ever
I think they will call the boxset of all 3 films There and Back Again.
I guess that would be the next best thing since they've already changed the film's name anyway. At least that subtitle would be used, and it would be used for the whole story that way like it was for the novel.

That image just BEGS for meme captioning. That was the best I could do in the few mins I had to make it. I had some better captions, but they're NSFW lol
So..when do y'all think they'll release an official trailer?
Probably in a couple of months I suspect.
Probably the same time around the TDOS trailer first came out
I believe in June, attached to that Tom Cruise's movie: Edge of Tomorrow
It's a rather engrossing interview, if short, and Mortensen makes some fair points. I love Jackson's films but sure, they're not exactly subtle.
At the same time that I am a staunch defender of Jacksonian sound and fury, I continue to hold out hope that one day, perhaps decades in the future, different, longer, truer, quieter adaptations will be made of Tolkien's work that don't rely so much on bombast and crowd-pleasing, or on dumbing down dialogue into exposition-friendly Boyens-bites.
It could happen.
I'd die for Malick to stop wasting time with Ben Affleck and adapt high fantasy for eight years.
That's firm ground to die on, but die on it you would. While Malick's sensitive, authentic touch is sorely missing from most genre work, filmmakers of his calibre are exactly the kind that generally eschew fantasy fare.
Don't Tase Me, Bro!
Doesn't that change basically the entire point of the ending(s) of the book, if true (which I have no idea if it is)...
Sauron riding Smaug into battle against the forces of good. You know you want to see it.
I so hope that is true. So, so much. It would confirm everything I think about these new movies.
Unfortunately I don't think it's true.
lol wtf is Ecumenical News. This is worse than getting spoilers from that "Latino Review" rag.
Must be new.
