Completely agree. These two are fantastic.

I also loved "The World is Ahead" and "Brass Buttons".

I think it's got the potential to become better each time you hear it. My immediate reaction was "bit of a mess", but subsequent listens offered greater rewards. Best to judge it when I hear it after the film. I think on that sort of high it might work rather well.

    EDIT:
I don't know about anyone else, but this video has a particular sense to it - a sense of 'time of our lives'. These actors are doing a job, but the scene they are filming is SO iconic, and they all get on (quite clearly) so well, that I just know it's a time that will stay with each of them forever. Even when set against other iconic (for there are many) parts of the book, this is the moment of lift off and I think they all know it. For their characters, and them them as actors.

On my second hearing my thoughts were "OMG, is that chorus a bit... reggae?" :p But I agree, hearing it after the film (and in full length) will probably make all the difference.

In movement Kili looks more dwarfish to me, I dunno why. Also, he technically has a nose prosthetic. That is all.

To be honest, Kili will be fine. When that company of dwarves comes alive on the big screen it's going to be irresistible.

    LOL!!!!

By the way, they missed an opportunity there:
"There's a voice which seemed quite familiar, too..."
    "Oh?"
    "... in a dragon."
"John, I know that I am sometimes prone to flights of fancy, but that one is a bit far-fetched."
"I don't know, Sherlock. With you coming back from the dead and all... The sky's the limit."

    Cheers,
    Lauré :)

A longer (stitched together) preview of "Song of the Lonely Mountain". I don't know about it in isolation, but I'm still backing it to work at the end of the film.

Love the "hammer falling on anvil" effect, but I'm still not fond of the "ya ya ya ya" thing. :p But I do agree that it might work really well at the end of the film with the credits.

More images from the film. Love the wargs!

Well of course! If they were to put tickets on sale for "The Desolation of Smaug" right now, I suspect those would outsell "Breaking Dawn" and "Skyfall". :p

Here, have some hi-def pics of Thorin:

The badass heirs of Durin.

(Though I can't help but think "What business does a man, an elf and a dwarf have in the Riddermark Erebor?" :p)

    OMG, Dwarf-sized Gandalf! :p

Say what you will about the lack of proper beard, Thorin still looks regal... [face_love]

And that regal look is not easy to achieve... :p

Lovely pictures. Thorin looks spectacular. Although it's kinda odd to see (in that second image) Thorin standing taller than Gandalf. :p

Thorin is badass... and Armitage is amazing. [face_love]
I must say that until I saw him in that one picture with Gandalf, I hadn't quite registered how big Orcrist was. Armitage's 6'2", so Orcrist must be around 5' or so. Almost as tall as some people...

    Cheers,
    Lauré :)
