Oh wow, can we have a "summarize EU novels in rhyme" challenge sometime? I'd love to see Darth Plagueis as a sonnet.

I believe that's Lucas you're describing, even though he won't be the Dark Lord for much longer.

Katie Lucas should marry someone from the Steve Jobs estate and suddenly find themselves owners of Disney.

    *zzzzrnk* ehwha?

    Blame Disney.

Well, @LarryG has pulled way ahead, so there you go. Now let's see...

The Paradise Snare. Be warned, this was my first SW book. Sentiment abounds.

    OK for real:

Han Solo begins his life as a pilot by working for talking rhinos, who have lured many people to work for them as slaves through their mating ritual sex, and falls in love with a ginger and makes friends with a cat-man.

Han Solo beings his life as a pilot working for some zealot religious beings who only want glitterstim, falls in love with a religious nutter who abandons him on Coruscant as Han enters the Imperial Academy

Han Solo is with a wookiee who is not Chewie, a woman who is not Leia, and pilots a ship that is not the Falcon.

Two in a row! Thanks! The love you all show for me is getting addictive. I did not read Paradise Snare though, so my run is at an end.

Han runs away from being Oliver Twist so that he can join the Imperial Navy, but first he has to go smuggle drugs for a bunch of Hutt-rhinos that have a bunch of addicts working for them -- not addicted to the drugs, but to the good vibes from the Hutt-rhinos and their weirdo cult; Han decides this is stupid and blows town with an addict girl and a giant furry sidekick who's a cat this time around.

Somehow that makes it sound less awesome than the book was. Nice one Havac you destroyed another piece of joy in SW. [face_sigh]

    Why thank you. *blushes*

The Hutt Gambit: Han Solo is with a wookiee who is Chewie, yet another woman who is not Leia, and pilots the Falcon, although he does not own it.

Ann Crispin precedes Luceno by referencing practically every other Star Wars work in existence, while having it serve the plot (and, in some cases, improve the plots of the works referenced) and form a cohesive universe rather than come across as obligatory shout outs; also, Han finally gets his very own walking carpet.

Han Solo manages to win a massive naval victory over the Galactic Empire yet still gets picked to lead the ground team at Endor.
