In which Stackpole introduces his single best original character (I'd say I'm sorry, Corran, if I, y'know, was), and the X-Wing comics go from mildly entertaining yet somewhat disposable episodic adventures to one of the great cornerstones of the EU.

A noble Corellian pilot, famed for his skill and a major victory on the day the Death Star died, leads an elite group of pilots in the hard fought Battle of Brentaal while dealing with threats from the scheming Ysanne Isard and a confrontation with his brother in law on the other side of the battle.

Soontir Fel pulls a Vader on Wedge by revealing the shocking truth about whom Wedge’s sister married, while Ysanne Isard decides it’s time for this series to actually have an overarching plot.

I only just liked Havac's, because it finally fell behind Jello's.

Beginning with Brentaal, Ysanne Isard embarks upon her daringly innovative strategy of lulling the New Republic into a false fully justified sense of security by letting them easily capture hugely important Core Worlds.

Baron Fel relates his life story to Wedge in a convenient 48-page long info dump, while Corran inserts himself into the Rogues' affairs because c'mon, we all knew this had to happen sooner or later.
