Lit Books Comics A/V One Sentence or Less -- ANDOR (SEASON 1)

I tried to make up something Stoveresque but it would have taken more than one sentence, so I'll be lazy:

Though this is the end of prequel novelizations, they have saved their best for last.

 

Proof that there is a God, and his name is Stover.

 

Still 100% better than the movie

 

Matt Stover turns Lead into gold

 

Better than the movie in many ways.

 

The one adaptation besides RotJ's that I would recommend.

 

Didn't he try to do that in Dark Rendezvous, too?

 

I gotta think of something snarky to defy instantdeath.

 

A parallel between a Jedi trying too hard to change things and turning Sith (Anakin), and a Jedi acknowledging the dark within and twisting it for good (Mace).

 

So this is how the saga comes full circle, with thunderous applause for one novelization to rule them all.

 

It's awesome.

 

This is how it feels to be reading a good book.

 

Y'know, I think that's the one area in which I prefer the film. Don't get me wrong, I love a bad pun, but during a characters absolute lowest moment, one of the last few moments where the character is still conscious of his past life, still conscious, however distantly, that what he's doing is abominable... not the time to crack puns. And those puns were awful

Everything else in the book is absolutely master class, though.

 

While CooperTFN hated it when I used actual quotes before, this is one of the most poignant and moving set of EU lines (yes, I know it is more than one sentence) and it is worth repeating in it's entirety:

"This is how twenty-five millennia come to a close. Corruption and treachery have crushed a thousand years of peace. This is not just the end of a republic; night is falling on civilization itself."

Wherein a 100 pages equal only 20 minutes worth of movie, then Lucasfilm saw if they let Stover keep writing it that way it would come out to approximately 1100 pages so George showed up with a red pen and a pair of scissors to hack out a few 500 pages so they could actually publish and turn a profit.

 

if i reference the EU enough times in this official movie adaption I can make it come true!

 

Bad writing is everywhere, it is generous and it always wins, but at any bad story is it's one weakness, a single good story can hold it back, this novel is more then a good story, it ignites the imagination.

 

"This is an imaginary story. Aren't they all?"

 

Let's discuss the Tractatus.

 

if you actually bought Shatterpoint when Mace references Skywalker as THE shatterpoint you be all like "Damn! I'm glad I bought Shatterpoint!"

 

Dr. Anakin and Mr. Vader.

(I guess I'm in the minority, in that I didn't like this one.)

 

This book is greater than the words we use to describe it.

(Dammit, should have used that for Traitor....)
