This is why Zuckuss is mentally ill.

This, too, is why Zuckuss is mentally ill.

The book that holds before you the tantalizing prospect of a sentient weapon that feeds on human spirits (but not alien ones?) only to whisk it away, laughing in your face at the idea that you would ever take back-cover copy seriously.

If you took the front cover seriously, then you would have expected an appearance by Skippy the Jedi Droid.

A misleading cover blurb followed by two hundred pages of exposition and one surprisingly awesome action setpiece about two thirds in.

A book in which nothing pretty much happens and boringly at that

    Just more mind-boggling boredom.

Despite crime lords, 'fates worse than death', and so on, we completely fail to see Boba Fett in a golden slave bikini, one of the few things that might have livened up a book which somehow gave us main characters whose professions entail action, violence and adventure, yet permitted them very few exciting moments of any kind.

If you were expecting Bounty Hunter Wars, a Slave Ship, or a sentient weapon that feeds on Human spirits, think again.

Not gonna post an entry for this book because I barely remember it... as Havac's entry skillfully illustrates. I read this book less than a year ago, and I seriously don't remember any of this.

The book where the mere mention of sucking a planet dry and recoil had certain fanbois growing excited.

That would be because it says on the back cover that Boba Fett will have to face a sentient weapon that feeds on human spirits, but . . . there's no such thing anywhere in the book. Congratulations, your memory is great!

Ah... well, they're still not particularly memorable books. I liked the Vader and Xizor sections, though.

In a shining example of back-cover deception, we go in expecting a machine that eats human souls, while getting Boba Fett reminiscing about the time he had a staring contest with Xizor.

Zuckuss gets a bit more respect in this one, but again, it's the reason why he's mentally ill. :p

Don't worry about the title; the bounty hunter porn is only metaphorical.

Boba Fett finally reaches the star system Kuat to meet with Kuat of Kuat on one of Kuat Drive Yards' orbital shipyards surrounding the planet Kuat, and leaves him to die so we never have to see the word "Kuat" so damn much anymore.

Did we really exhaust titles that can relate to Boba Fett in just two volumes?

Boba Fett commanders a star destroyer and keeps it in one piece, proving that, yes, even Boba Fett is more qualified to rule the empire (or GA) than Dalaa.

SPOILER WARNING: Neelah's real name is Kateel of Kuhlvult, Prince Xizor didn't really order the attack on Luke's foster parents, and Boba Fett can pilot an ISD by himself -- not that any of this matters in the end.

Oh, and Jeter actually read "Of Possible Futures" by this point, judging by the vague mention of it in the first chapter.

BTW, what's the Imperial Guard doing on the cover? Did someone at LFL decide to make this the most misleading series ever or what?

I never realized how terrible those covers were. I guess Ruins of Dantooine should get a gold star for at least having a cover related to what was inside...
