Malgus believes in eternal war and kills people, a smuggler (who has a sick little girl, so we haaaaave to sympathize with him [I don't, dude murdered someone]) helps a jedi to try to get revenge for what happened in the first cinematic trailer of Star Wars The Old Republic, not bad, not great and fleshes out so character...... to bad we never see any of them again (even Malgus is really different). like this post

What you would get if someone feed the Original Star Wars, The Clone Wars (the First Game), Darksaber, a few KJ Anderson novels and the first act of the Jedi knight Storyline into a machine and asked for something less interesting.
One of the more cunning, interesting Sith Lords from the game gets killed off by a new villain no one cares about in the first few chapters, who ends up dying by the end anyway in a domino effect of wasted potential.
Darth Marr shows himself as a true tactical genius by having a superweapon deployed to quell unrest, completely destroying whatever it was he was trying to hold onto, and this cementing himself as a badass.
