Lit Books Comics A/V One Sentence or Less -- ANDOR (SEASON 1)

A magnificent culmination to the prequel era, this story of (if I may quote parts of the novel) "love and loss, brotherhood and betrayal, courage and sacrifice and the death of dreams" is a truly gripping tale that finishes off the prequel trilogy nicely while giving us a splendid conclusion that sees the end of a thousand-year old Republic and the twilight of the Jedi; "the end starts now."

 

"Why is this about 5 times better than the film?"

 

From the parts I did read, it was a good book.

 

Stover shows his prejudice against Wookiees by removing all the Kashyyyk scenes.

 

The book that convinced me to get into the EU.

 

Obi-Wan took an entire scene to marvel at Anakin's butt and that is why it is the best movie novel.

 

Because mass murderer who is a proven liar promises that he might (though not for certain) be able to save your secret wife, who by the way is in tip-top perfect health right now, you go murder your friends and family, and a roomful of little kids.

 

Yeah, Stover and his crazy ideas. Psssh.

 

Palpatine only had to lie because the Jedi had a kill on sight order for the Sith! He was the good Sith! You know, like Timothy Olyphant was the good drug dealer in Go.

 

The dark is generous, and it is patient, and it always wins-but in the heart of its strength lies weakness: one lone candle is enough to hold it back. Love is more than a candle. Love can ignite the stars.

 

That line gives me chills. Every. Single. Time.

After an accidental misfire of the internal weapons of a replica droid of Princess Leia forces them to fly a scientist all the way to his home planet (really), Han and Leia have a vacation at Hologram Fun World (really!), then Zorba the Hutt captures Leia at a magic show and takes her and a Trioculuscicle to the Mofference aboard the Moffship (really!!), then the Moffs defrost Trioculus and claim Leia and Trioculus's first inclination is to propose marriage to an enemy leader (really!!!), so Trioculus orders Zorba the Hutt to be dumped into the Pit of Carkoon to help make Leia like him and commands Moff Hissa to grab a copy of the Dark Book of Imperial Justice to read at the wedding (really!!!!), meanwhile Han takes the Leia HRD and Luke (and of course Ken - really!!!!!) on a rescue mission to switch the droid for Leia (really!!!!!!), whereupon Robo-Leia apparently remembers that Trioculus once proclaimed he has a heart and fries it with her laser eyes (really!!!!!!!), and finally Zorba the Hutt pulls a Boba and crawls out of the sarlacc (really!!!!!!!!); amazingly, this all happened in an actual book that I have an actual copy of.

 

I always thought the lizard guy on the cover looked cool.

 

The Tragedy of Hissa and Trioculus climaxes when Luke sends a droid to assassinate enemy leader during his wedding, and laughs about it afterwards.

 

The death of the series' true hero.
