The series in which Lando Calrissian's suaveness is still a work in progress, while his ego is already completed.

Very much a throwback to the pulp fiction that Star Wars originally drew a large percentage of existence from.

Genius author creates innovative, mind-expanding, clever masterpiece that quickly becomes the most hated series in the EU.

You're posting under the wrong series...that's not the Lando books. That's LotF.
With NJO and DNT as runner up.

You realize you're calling those series masterpieces, right? And Denning a genius?

Just realized I went long on this one; I guess I'll just let it finish out the day.

Oh, and I should point out that RF's entry doesn't count--I suppose I never explicitly banned the use of quotes, but the quote by itself, glorious though it may be, wouldn't make any sense. Personally, I'm endorsing Paul_Klein's.

    But sarcastically.

Denning's not even the worst the EU has to offer. Most of the time.

Okay, bringing this one home. Lots of good entries this time around, but DarthRelaxus takes it.

Well, this one had a much poorer showing than Lando--but Todd's got a pretty clear win, so I guess that's that.

The under appreciated book in which Anakin is actually a pretty nice kid; his first kill, on the other hand, is worthy of Vader.

This is what the prequel EU looked like when we hadn't been afflicted with AOTC yet -- Jedi adventures, the end of a golden age, married Jedi, a relationship between Obi-Wan and Anakin that was flawed but fundamentally loving, and Tarkin in a sinister Palpatinist cabal working with a totally awesome Raith Sienar.

They're not setting up the plot for a giant 20-book epic involving extragalactic aliens, nope, nothing to see here, just a fun Jedi adventure starring Obi-wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker before the horror of teenage angst and Clone Wars (continuity) hits.

Great description in the beginning, intriguing scenes with Tarkin and Seinar, an interesting planetary and ship concept, and then it drags and drags and drags and drags and drags and drags and drags and drags and drags and drags for pages and pages until Anakin offs some character I didn't care about, the end.

Read those descriptions carefully kids, because I remember not being able to picture a great deal of them.
