The secondary characters in Only Fools & Horses were just that... SECONDARY!!! They were very shallow creations... and nowhere near deep enough to base a series on.

Yup, the bottom of the British TV barrell never looked so scraped!

 

To be honest I thought the best ending was when they were millionnaires after seeling that watch at auction. I though that was the ideal romantic ending for Del and Rodney. I didn't like the three christmas specials that followed that, felt like OFAH for OFAH sake.

Yes there were three episodes after the one where they got rich. They all sucked.

And I can't tell you how much of a disappointment that was to me. Only Fools and Horses had been consistently excellent, and I thought they'd managed to give it the ending it truly deserved. I perfect British sitcom, across the years, from start to finish. Then... then... then they make three awful Christmas specials because the BBC know it'll win the ratings war and rob the show of it's perfect status in the annuls of TV history.
