This one is: Forgive and Forget

Kyp wondered if anyone had really forgiven and forgotten the atrocities he'd perpetrated while under the influence -- of a Sith. He sighed. His true friends - his family of sorts--the Solos--they were the ones who counted. He knew Han had--Han had done his fair share of regrettable things, although naturally not on this scale--but Han was a true believer in letting one's present actions be the things you were judged by. He treated others that way and expected to be dealt with in a similar manner.
Kyp appreciated this immensely. Luke-his heart was immeasurably compassionate. If he could redeem Vader, there was no one beyond Luke's reach.

Leia--she had taken more ... convincing. But she had come around, especially when she saw her kids hadn't shied away from Kyp. Kids and pets - if they give you a fair shake, you cannot be all bad.

But it was Liz ... her acceptance and her love -- it healed wounds and filled places he hadn't realized were there to fill.

Great start! Leia would be a little harder on Kyp than Han and the kids, but it's great that she accepted him.

 

Very sweet! I've always liked the relationship between Kyp and Han. Glad to see Leia's come around, and I love the comment about kids and pets!

Kyp and Liz were reunited/reconciled after a long separation. She didn't know if Kyp knew or remembered to celebrate the 'new' anniversary of them getting back together.

She frowned as she searched for her datapadd. Where had it gotten off to? Had Kyp taken it and used it instead of his, and then put it back somewhere she wouldn't know to look for it?

Liz grimaced. That was definitely a 'guy-style' thing to do, she reflected.

Sure enough, there it was among his stack of datafiles.

She snatched it up and turned it on to find the following:

"Hi, sweet, lovely Liz."

Buttering me up ... she thought. Her tummy flipped. OK, it was more or less working.

"Meet me at the following place at 0700, please. I have a surprise for you."

The name and map pointed to a very up-scale restaurant.

You either had to know someone influential or make reservations weeks in advance.

Allright, I'm officially impressed.

Liz was wearing a sky-blue dress with a silver necklace with sparkly gems to match in her hair.

They had a private room with candles and a private wait-droid.

After the very delicious meal, Kyp presented her with a gold-leaf box.

She opened it to find a pendant with their initials engraved and entwined.

the enclosed note read: "Liz, I'd marry you all over again, and feel twice-blessed. I am so happy we are back together again."

Liz grinned.

"You softie! You kept this a secret from me all this time."

Kyp's green eyes sparkled at her.

"Sweetheart, so where's my anniversary present?"

"Take me home and you'll find out."

"Is it season tickets for shockball?"

Liz laughed. "More like two weeks on a resort world with a private beach."

His eyes lit.

"We both need a vacation. Away from urgent crises."

"It sounds wonderful, doesn't it? Consider it a second honeymoon."

Kyp grinned. "When do we leave?"

"Our bags're packed. We leave first thing tomorrow morning."
