Laurana. The cover of DL16 (18?) in the Dragonlance series, to which I was addicted in high school. The events of this adventure were also written into the plot of Dragons of Spring Dawning, a trilogy of books revolving around the PCs and NPCs of that adventure series.

I am now the proud owner of two OOTS books! War and XP and The Origin of PCs.

It's kinda funny that Elan used to work with a Paladin. I was wondering why he didn't recognise Mika as one since Sir Fransois is dressed the same as she is, just in red and has a sword and shield, and then remembered this is Elan we are talking about.

It's great to see the little extra strips he's put into the book, as well as a translation of Haley's cryptograms. There's also his commentary, which is very interesting now considering we're at the end of a story arc, or so I would imagine.

 

I so badly want to read those, but I don't want to fork up cash...

668 moving the pieces

The plan of the IFCC is not as long term as they led on. But, keeping the game going longer gives them more souls along the way. "50/50 chance of ending up with V's soul anyway." So, at the moment they don't have her soul wrapped up? They see greater conflict involving themselves?

The first panel is hilarious as the fiend that spoke to Tiamat is apparently suffering from Tiamat breath, in the second panel his cohort extinguishes him.

New story arc coming!

Picked up Paladin Blue and Start of Darkness. Darkness was interesting, as you see pre-Lich Xykon.

Redcloak kinda reminds me of Vader, like what happened with his brother.

Also wondering if they will get that gem Xykon has.

I have the feeling the Order will be heading out into the desert soon.

 

669 Logical Conclusions

Let's see, to lose you virginity twice on must first lose their virginity, get killed, get raised, then lose virginity again. So easy!

 

670 the War Council

Again O-Chul rules. Got Xykon's spell list, partial list of magic items, and FEATS. This guy just doesn't stop.

There is a reference HERE panel 6 concerning the elves. And now here they are. Note that it looks like an elf team of OOTS characters.

 

That's "the elves finally found a way to slip through my defences"? It's a little bit of a stretch, Montie.

But now, we're onto the new story arc and (hopefully) we'll see more frequent updates. It looks as if they have a rogue, a ranger, a wizard and what could be a paladin.

I do like the name "Team Peregrine" even if it DOES remind me of a certain MIA Corellian senator. Maybe I read too much SW EU.

EDIT: No, it's a cleric. Too bad, I was hoping for a different sort of Paladin but the only other's we've seen (aside from on the Teevo) were in On the Origin of PCs

 

Just as I thought that they are getting back together they are splitting up again!

I wouldn't mind having O-Chul with me, that guy's much more a meat shield than Roy given his maxed out Constitution score.

 

The OOTS is not breaking up again, they are all going to the mentioned port city.

Possible sea adventure followed by a desert adventure and possibly more O-Chul action.

 

I didn't mean the order, but characters in general.

 

I know I have been saying it for a while, but this page really IS the end of a story arc and I've been expecting it.

But, the world within a world thing...could that be to another dimension? That the snarl is not as destructive as people might think?

We'll have until the end of August to stew over it, and I can't wait that long!

 

672 A Familiar Conclusion

Can we start the shameless speculation now?

I'm going to predict that Haley's father is being held prisoner by Elan's father.

 

That's been the general consensus on the GiantITP boards for awhile, I believe. I'll be pretty surprised if it doesn't end up that way.

 

There is also a chance that Belkar will cause the death of V before he carks it himself. As much as I like V, his/her death would make a very interesting time given the whole soul splicing thing. I wonder what that bespeckled angel was going to go on about just before Roy was resurrected.

 

Guys, I think I found Elan's father. Way back in strip 131

Elan's father is Miron Shewdanker, not Tyrinar but Tyrinar's evil chancellor!

 

I am lost on this father subplot and why or where it came up.

 

Montie, chances are this is going to come up in the next story arc.

Haley's father, Ian Starshine, is being held prisoner by Lord Tyrinar in Tyrinania which is on the Western Continent and Haley is trying to ransom him.
Elan's father, unnamed, fights under the banner of some guy beginning with "T".
The Order of the Stick is heading for the Western Continent.

How many hints does it take to get to the gooey centre of a Burlew plot?

Tying these plot threads together seems totally in the spirit of Elan and Nale. And having Elan's father as the actual Lord seems a little too obvious. Also, I imagine it would be more fun to be the Evil Chancellor than the Evil Overlord.

 

Chancellors generally don't lead armies.

 

But it's better than being Lord Tyrinar, is it not?
