I literally LOL here because I read the 1st panel and thought, "She's been wearing pants all this time?" And of course the 1st line in panel 2 is asking the same thing.

Even though it's leather this is of course a shot at the chainmail bikini trope. I started getting Dragon Magazine in the 80's and I recall this great cover by Kieth Parkinson called "Valshea". She was a fighter/wizard standing there in partial armor which looked cool. Years later I hear about this "chainmail bikini" trope but never recalled it being up front in the fantasy world. Until I picked up that issue again.

According to the oots forum:

Diamond Dust is the material component for Stoneskin, which requires 250 gp worth, and Restoration, which needs 100 gp worth. Looks like V's planning ahead

Calling a wizard a non-wizard class?

 

Montie, it's also a component for a whole bunch of other things, including a few rituals.
