Seeing an OOTS thread in the JCC fills me with happiness. Maybe there's hope for this place after all.
twitter Therapy today: Picking BBs out of silly putty. I think my therapist buys all her medical supplies at @ToysRUs
Buggar I saw this thread and thought it meant there was a new comic uploaded. Oh well I hope Rich's recovery continues smoothly.
It inspired me to go to the News page of his website to check and discover that Miko was killed off in 2007. Ye gods has the strip moved slowly.
865 Getting Defensive Carrion Crawlers were one of the first D&D monsters I came across so many years ago.
867 The First Title Also Still Applies "Don't Split The Party"? I have no knowledge of the books. Been awhile since Belkar had a few panels.
SPOILS! (Move your mouse to reveal the content) SPOILS! (open) SPOILS! (close) Yeah, didn't relize dude was a vampire and it never crossed my mind to my memory that Belakr would become a vampire. he is already a killing machine. Now he gets vapire powers? I bet Belkar smiles when he relizes.
Reading through the official forum it is pointed out: Also, back in 764: "And Tarquin keeps telling me that if I want more children so badly, I should just find the right person and get to it, but...I don't know."-Malack Have you ever considered adoption? Surely your political climate produces no shortage of orphans. "Yes, but I'm worried about not having that, you know, special bond."-Malack
871 Just a couple of blooddrinkers Reminds me of George Lucas discussing Palaptine as someone who does not relize they are evil, which I never bought into. But in this case Malack is evil without thinking he is evil.
He drinks the blood of people convicted under a horrid dictatorship ruled over by an evil character. Said people might not actually be guilty of bad things. Recall the issue where it was spelled out with burning bodies in giant letters for Elan? Cavorts with evil, works with evil drives the evil of the evil ruler. Malack is evil. And taking anyone against their will and making them a vampire? Belkar is evil. But it very well could have been Roy that Malack encountered. Would he have passed on turning him? No way.
Everything he has done has still theoretically been LN; only the Belkar attempted-turn may be considered evil but he's treating it as reproduction instead of killing Belkar (which wouldn't have been evil). I don't buy the rape arguments either, so either vampirism is an inherently evil act or it's not. If it's not -- and Giant tends not to like moral absolutism -- then it's open to debate.
