Um, that wasn't a parody of the Dead Parrot sketch, it was a parody of the Cheese Shop sketch...

Your confusion is understandable, though, as they both feature Michael Palin as a shopkeeper and John Cleese.

 

There actually is a dead parrot in the OOTS strip though.

That's some classic Elan, that is.

 

I'd be curious as to the OOTS version of Arborea. It is a chaotic good plane that is not onyl the home of the Olympian gods but in Forgotten Realms is the home of Sharess and Sune, the goddesses of pleasure and love.

I wonder if the whole thng will end with Elan telleing Julio The Tale.

Yep, we knew dad was involved but we didn't know in what capacity (could have been anything -- summoning for fun!); now we know it was just extensions of his normal hubris (experimentation / learning) which almost makes it worse in a way.

 

That is one of the few -- possibly the only -- OOTS that still brings a tear to my eye on repeated readings.
