Speculation Opening Scene of Episode VII

Post your prediction of the opening scene

Luke, Leia and another Jedi (alien in nature) in a small ship approach a remote location in the outer rim.
The ship lands in a desolate area where he finds several force sensitive beings. He informs them why they he is there and brings them up to speed on current events. Luke invites them back to Yavin and begin jedi training.

 

A space ship of some sort (hopefully the Falcon) will fly from lower left corner of the screen, directly thru to the upper right, before docking onto a larger ship. The question is, will we see the top of the ship, or the bottom?

 

A light shower of meteorites rain down through the vastness of space, roaring past the camera, and falling down towards the serene planet of New-Alderaan below....

 

We will see a Star Destroyer being pursued by a new enemy ship. The SD will be destroyed and we will pan out to an Imperial Shipyard being destroyed.

 

maybe flying into the Tantive IV?

is it big enough?

 

New Alderaan?

Why would it be called new alderaan? All the inhabitance of the planet were destroyed.
Is this a planet named for Leia???

 

My second opening scene would go somethnig like this...

We see the vastness of space. From the far lower left corner, we see the Tantive V
The ship decends into a beautiful earth like planet. Its Naboo.

We see two jedis exiting the ship walking to town center greeted by the Queen and her subjects.

They lead them off to a beautiful garden. We see the two jedis kneel, placing several objects on a tomb. The two jedi remove their hoods. We see a somber Luke and Leia.

pan out

 

The camera pans somewhere.
Spacecraft are visible.
Then, something happens.

 

Luke gets another shot

 

Shame on you all! You know how it SHOULD start!

Vast, empty space - then slowly, the BIG YELLOW WORDS OF EXPOSITION starting with "Episode VII" start crawling up from the bottom of the screen, then the nerdgasm starts... 10 minutes later, there are either cries of jubilation or gasps of horror from the audience...

 

we're talking about after the opening scroll, fool

 

Camera pans down to reveal a funeral pyre in the woods with a young man in black standing before it. Then, there is a wipe to reveal a familiar sleeping farm boy.
It was all a dream. He gets up and says, "it just isn't fair." He then grabs his sun hat and goes outside to start his chores and gazes at the sky with his macrobinoculars. He sees what looks like a space battle, and then a man's voice is heard calling his name, "Luke, stop stargazing and come help me with these condensers." He turns to see an older man with a woman, who then says to him, "oh Anakin, don't be so hard on the boy. He hasn't even had breakfast yet. Now son, go downstairs and have one of your sister's biscuits before your uncle wakes up and eats them all." Luke hands the macrobinoculars to her and explains he thinks he was watching a battle before going back into the homestead. Anakin asks, "what do you see, Padme?" and she lowers the macrobinoculars to say, "Our lives catching up with us."

 

EU has established that New Alderaan is a planet where thousands of former residents of Alderaan moved to after the destruction of Alderaan by the first Death Star.

As what? As bags of the grit to throw around the sidewalk when it snows?

I can see it now -

Honey, pass me a handful of the Organa family, there's a patch of ice here...

 

The dead hulk of a drifting Star Destroyer.

 

Lame.

Sounds too PT.

 

I think it will start with a Republic painted Star Destroyer. Luke and other Jedi will be going to quell an uprising of some sort on a planet.

 

I'd like to see the next generation of Star Destroyer.

 

how about yellow space and black letters?

 

The Camera pans up and we catch a lens flare from a distant blue-white star. An angular ship that looks to be like a mix of Imperial and Mon Calamari design slowly rumbles overhead, the Millenium Falcon roars from it's hangar bay flanked by starfighters..

 

I've long imagined an opening where the camera pulls back to reveal the window of a ship and someone looking out of it.
Oddly enough, after being inspired by STAR WARS to do Star Trek, Abrams is challenged to open the film in a way that doesn't look similar, so we might not get a ship encountering another ship/disturbance followed by a battle.
Jeez I'm so eager for this.
