Ok, based on an idea I got based on Orangerful's (yes I FINALLY spelled that right!) post to Angylinni, I thought it might be interesting to see which of the following is peoples favorite.

#1) Favorite SW film & why
#2) Favorite SW Novel (includeing EU)
#3) Favorite SW character & Why
#4) Which character do you most resemble (Personality wise)

    What do ya'll think?

Ok...since I started this thing......I guess I should start this thing!

#1) Top movie has to be "A New Hope." First of all, it is what started it all. Secondly, it has the best paced plotline. (YES! I know ESB has an actual story, but ANH is Timeless)

#2) My favorite novel......hmmmm! I say it's a two way tie between "I, Jedi" and "Shadows of the Empire" Basically, just REALLY good storylines.

#3) My favorite character is the one and only Palpatine! Simply because he's one bad-a#* dude!

#4) the character the most reminds me of myself is Leia Organa. She's strong, willfull always pushes to get what she wants.
(But then again, I guess you could say the same thing about Palpy or Vader. Like father like daughter, I guess! LOL)

1 - For the span of my life, ESB has been my favorite. I never thought a PT film would ever take its place. I have to say that my favorite of all the films is AOTC, hands down. This is followed closely by ESB.

2 - You know, I've only read four SW books ever. I read the three Thrawn books in college which would have been around 10 years ago when I was a freshman. I also read Truce at Bakura. That was bad. I'd have to say as a whole I enjoyed the trilogy. I look at them as one entity.

3 - Obi-Wan has always been my favorite and the PT only reinforces that. He is the most noble character in the saga. Upon realizing his place in the prophecy, he purposely sacrificed his own life so that Anakin could live. He knew what it all meant when he looked over at Luke.

4 - I'd still have to go with Obi-Wan. I have more of a dry sense of humor. I laugh everytime when Anakin explains how he went to rescue Obi-Wan, he looks at his chains and the pole and says, "Good job".

#1) Favorite SW film & why: I guess for me right now it is EP2, since I am a big softie for romantic mush and it is the most mushiest one yet.
#2) Favorite SW Novel (includeing EU) Splinter of the Minds Eye, don't remember much of the plot or the book but I know that it absolutely fascinated me in junior high, right about the time that ESB came out.
#3) Favorite SW character & Why I love Anakin, can't believe that such a sweet little boy can be so corrupted by power that he turns into the walking evil of Darth Vader. (Yeah right!) Can you imagine being able to choke anybody that made you mad, wouldn't that make road rage look like a walk down lollipop lane! :)
#4) Which character do you most resemble (Personality wise) I think I resemble Anakin the most, I tend to let things get to me easily and then get mad about them even though it is just life happening, just like it happens to everyone else. I did take that quiz to see which character you were most like and it came back with Princess Leia. Thought that was kinda funny, its nice to resemble such a strong, pushy woman who gets what she wants when she wants it.

    Okay, here I go!

#1) Favorite SW film & why Well, my favorite is still ESB. Main reason is the scene with Vader and Luke fighting and the whole "I am your father" scene. Man, that was the biggest theatrical climax in my whole life! I mean, when we found out that Vader was Luke's father!! That was like, "Woah!" But now that spark is gone since the PT will explain all that. I have seen threads on the boards that ask if you will let your kids see the whole SW saga PT first then OT. I say no. I will let them see the OT first then see the PT just to see their reactions when Vader says to Luke that he is his father. Call me an OT purist, but hey, that's me! :D

#2) Favorite SW Novel (including EU) Man, this is a toughie. I would say TTT, but it seems that the NJO is starting to get to the really good stuff. It was going downhill for a while but wait till you read Traitor. I mean wow! This one is has got action and it gives a whole new light to the correlation between the YV and the Force. Well, I don't want to give away anything so you will just have to read it and see or yourself.

#3) Favorite SW character & Why Hands down it would be Han Solo. Brash, smug, and a nack for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. He is the one who thinks he is out of control, but he is actually the most in-control character in the GFFA. Who needs the force when you have the "Solo luck"!

#4) Which character do you most resemble (Personality wise) I have always identified with Kyp Durron. He seems to get himself into situations because he likes the conflict. This gives people the impression that he could be easily swayed to the Dark Side, but instead, his dealing with conflict instead of avoiding it makes him a stronger Jedi. I don't usually look for conflict, but when I face it, I try to work my way through it instead of around it.

#1) Favorite SW film & why
-Hands down, ESB. I think it had the best plot and was the most complete of all of the movies so far.

#2) Favorite SW Novel (includeing EU)
-Shadows of the Empire. It was just great storytelling. When you are on the verge of rooting for Darth Vader, who is the epitomy of evil, and are able to ignore the commercialism (game and action figures) that went with it, you know you have something good in your hands.

#3) Favorite SW character & Why
-My favorite character would have to be Yoda. He is wise and reserved, but you can see that there is an edge to him.

#4) Which character do you most resemble (Personality wise)
-I would have to say Chewie. For some reason, I seem to look intimidating to people (which helps when things are not going my way), but once you get to know me, you know that I am just an old softie. But I never told you that... ;)

Favorite Movie- Personally AOTC, because te effects looked amazing, and then there's the whole Yoda fighting thing, but ESB is really close behind 'cause it had the best plot and overall dialogue.

Favorite Novel- Oy vay! I've barely read any novels, but the best one that I've read is Jedi Apprentice 6: The Uncertain Path.

Favorite Charactor- Oh, Han Solo for sure! He the on-a-whim, gambling scoundrel. Who can't lkie the guy?

Character I'm Most Like- Mace Windu, the wise, complete no-nonsense guy who tries to solve through peace.

    Great idea, Sithspawn!

No you are so wrong sithspawn. I will probably sic the EUDF on you and if you are really an EU basher, I will unleash the Genghis at you....Trust me, you don't want that to happen!

Favorite SW film & why Original Star Wars, no subtitle. I saw in '77 as a college student. Mesmerizing. I can still remember people standing and clapping at the end and cheering Luke on and all the comments during the film from the awestruck audience.

Favorite SW Novel (including EU) Man, this is a toughie. I equally liked all the Jedi Apprentice books, Vector Prime, Courtship of Princess Leia, all the X-wing books and anything by Micheal Stackpole, everything on Nomi Sunrider, the three Dark Forces books and Shadows of the Empire . Probably more I forgot...

Favorite SW character & Why Tough, I would have to say, Corran Horn, 'cause he is just so damn cool.

Which character do you most resemble (Personality wise)
Easy, Ysanne Isard. Because we both have the same charming personalities! :D [face_laugh]

#1) Favorite SW film & why

-I'd probably have to say "Attack Of The Clones". I know people have criticzed about it, but, like TPM, people have to realize that the prequels set up the original trilogy. And AOTC sets up everything that we see in the OT.

#2) Favorite SW Novel (includeing EU)

-Wow! Um...I liked the X-Wing books, and also the Thrawn trilogy.

#3) Favorite SW character & Why

-Hmm..I tend to like the bad characters, so I would have to say probably Adult Boba Fett, Jango, Count Dooku, and Vader.

#4) Which character do you most resemble (Personality wise)

Darth Maul. I'm a sucker with too much hatred of the world around him who gets manipulated by others.

I'm out of it for a little while and people start posting my topics for me! How helpful! haha. It was quite a surprise to come back from NJ and find a post with my name on it LITERALLY!

Hm hm hm let me think, these are actually quite tough questions I have posed:

#1) Favorite SW film & why
Like Sithspawn, I would have to saw ANH. When I was little it was ROTJ cuz of the cool rancor and fight for endor. But now I feel ANH is the film that probably has the most staying power for me. It's a complete film in itself, you can watch it over and over. You can watch it knowing nothing of star wars or watch it as a geek and still appreciate it. (DRK_HLMT you have another OT purist right here!)

#2) Favorite SW Novel (including EU)
I've only read a few but the Heir to the Empire trilogy got me re-hooked on my star wars obsession after years of letting it fall to the wayside so it gets my vote.

#3) Favorite SW character & Why
I'd have to go with Han just because he is quite the scoudrel. He talks tough but he's "got it where it counts". He's the kind of person I could hang out with.

#4) Which character do you most resemble (Personality wise) Hm...well since I was sort of raised on the films, I think my psyche is a mix of all of our heroes at times. Some days I feel as naive and lost as Luke. Other days I'm a chick with attitude like Leia. And a lot of days I'm wicked with the sarcasm like Han.

Put them all together and you get me :)

    how scary is that?

Well I know some of you are just dying to hear my response to these questions, so without further ado:

#1) Favorite SW film & why:
I'd have to say Return of the Jedi, it ends on the total up moment, that's all life is, one big up moment! Well really, I love ROTJ because of the closure that it brought.

#2) Favorite SW Novel (includeing EU):
Well, i have not ventured to the EU realm yet, so I'd say that TPM was my favorite book, it had more insight than the book and gave TPM more place in the Skywalker saga than the movie did.

#3) Favorite SW character & Why:
Well not surprisingly my favorite is Solo. Hard to explain why, I guess its the rogue independent nature of the character.

#4) Which character do you most resemble (Personality wise):
Well I don't know if I resemble him or not but the character I've always strove to emulate is Obi-Wan Kenobi. I'd have to say that its because of Obi-Wan's devotion and his adherence to the principles of what a Jedi is and also his emulation of the wisdoms of Yoda. Although, my Star Wars IQ test results say I'm a Yoda with Tusken Raider tendencies and Wampa-like introversion, so who knows.

Hello Again to all Members of the Council:
I've been away for a while, but not because I wanted to. Job and Life duty calls can really take your time.

But I wanted to follow on this thread for the questions:

1- Since I saw for the first time ANH in the theaters, thanks to my dad, it really changed my life forever. I was barely three ant the time, but somehow it stuck in my mind. Then it was ESB, wow, those giant AT-AT surely can induce fear. And Finally ROTJ, great plot, and great truths discovered. Then came Ep. I & II. What a change. Well, what can I say. Probably is ANH that really made the kick. But I would like to add the famous "I-am-your-father" scene, the revelation of another Skywalker (Leia!? Who coudl've thought), the redemption of Vader by saving his son's life, the kick-a#$ pod racing as in the DVD (not in the movie, in DVD HAS MANY MORE scenes), and finally I would like to add (and many would agree) the demonstration of how REALLY use a lightsaber by Master Yoda. WOW

2- As far as novels go I have read almost everyone of them. With the exception of the Rogue's and the Bounty Hunters. The original trilogy is oustanding. The Mind's Eye is an excellent one too. The Tales of the Jedi (4000 years before ANH) are very good sources to understand the origins of the Jedi. The Dark Empire saga (I, II, Empire's END) covers the dark side of Luke Skywalker and they are excellent. The Zahn's trilogy and the seond duology, I think they are excellent. The Corellian Trilogy is oustanding. Darksaber is great, and Cristal City. The Young Jedi Knights adventures by Mr. Kevin J. Anderson, they are superb. And finally, the NJO really brings a new direction for the SW universe. But I'll say that the NJO when Chewbaca dies really had me down. I still feel sad because of that. It really hit my heart. I won't say is my favorite, but I'll say that is the one that has really made a lot of turmoil in my life. And I haven't read the other two novels I still have to read, and in one of them Anakin dies.

3- I belive that the best Character has to be Yoda. He was the real essence of what a Jedi Master is and the knowledge path for a grat Jedi has to follow. Humble, but ferocious in battle, kind, but firm in the adversity... Wise above all, and one with the Force has to be. If I compare all characters up to know, I say that Yoda has been one of the few that altered the curse of history. So sad when he died. May the Force be with him... always. And may him rest in Peace.

4- Before I thought of myself as the mature Luke Skywalker, Jedi Master. His Force strong and in constant battle against his past and his future. The calm one, but ready to fight. But, I would say that I resemble somehow a mixture between Jacen and Anakin Solo. I have the kindess and ability of being comfortable around animals like Jacen, but the ability to work in technology as Anakin. The desire or reaching a knowledge and mutual communication that Jacen has, but the determination of fighting when you have to fight that Anakin has. I'll say that a fusion between these two characters, can resemble how I am better.

    Well, I think that's it.

May the Force be with you...always.
