Cirani sat in her assigned room, trying to compose a message to the Imperials. She had done it a few times, but was not very good at it.

    To whom it may concern...
    *delete*
I am a concerned citizen that...
    *delete*
    Attention Imperials...
    *delete*

Cirani sighed. She usually got another member of the sindicate to write these things. She sat for a while, then it came to her. Now, what was the name of that Imperial? That's it.

Attention Treyers. I have come across information indicating that the Quarren Sho Joon will be assassinated at midday today. Do not try to learn who I am, or how I come across my information. Know that it will take place at a plaza outside the Womprat Cafe.

She looked over the message she had written. That looked good. Cirani looked at the chrono. Time to sleep. She would deliver it the next day.

Sonny and his four associates left the backroom to mingle among the clubs patrons they soon sat towards the back at a table reserved for big shots. Dancers and a Band were entertaining the crowd, while the five quietly talked amongst themselves.

"It was suppose to be two shipments a day now it's two a week, that Admiral of your is playing hardball." Jonas grumbled

"Yeah, well whatever, he has his reasons. Once that junk gets here we need to sell that stuff to other syndicates and other gangs who are willing to move it. Got any candidates?"

Jonas spoke up "Well of course the Hutt's, how about that other group what do you call them?" Jonas looked at Klin-Fa like he was asking him a question. "The Dew Claws" Klin-Fa barked "Sonny, is that Admiral of yours reliable."

"Yeah, he's in control of the planet where that spice is made, plus he's hooked on to that stuff. He won't go against us. If we go down, he goes with us. I have plenty of info to give his rivals if he crosses us."

Klin-Fa took a gulp of his corellian ale "Do you think he hid the officer uniforms and code cylinders along with the spice, I'm ichin' to see what new weaponry I can steal out of that Garrison Outpost..."

    Elsewhere...
A Ryn named Macris had just gotten his orders from Sonny, The Ryn was in his vehicle a modified swoop that could land him in deep trouble with the law because of the black market weaponry on it. But since the weapons were hidden he didn't give it a second thought, plus he hardly used them. Macris looked at the time and noticed it was plenty of time to get to know who his partner will be. Macris parked his swoop near a bar and went inside, he immediatley used the comlink Sonny gave him and called his new partner. "How's it going partner. This is Macris, meet me at Fuji's Bar, we have a few hours. This can give us plenty of time to get to know each other."

TAG: Viceroy Rook (You have heard of Macris, all you really know about him is he is a full fledge member of the League but he is not hardcore, just a mere smuggler and thief. You also know from other people he is a good person to talk to if you want to know about League politics.)

When morning came, Cirani told Sho Joon she was going to make sure the area of the meeting was secure, and she left, taking the datacard with the message on it with her. She wore a blue outfit that matched her skin almost perfectly, and she went to the Imperial's HQ.

Looking around, she pulled out some adhesive and stuck the datacard to the door. Now, there was a chance of her little game becoming dangerous for more than her target.

Cirani quickly left, and contacted her boss as she left for the plaza. She had about an hour and a half before all her preparations would either pay off, or not. She shuttered to think of what could happen if it did not work.

"This is Cirani checking in." she said into her comlink. "The planned time is midday today. I have just left a note for the Imps, and I am making final preparations for the job to be concluded. You will know where I am if I do not check back in three hours."

((Madame Bastet; I don't think it's time for morning yet. There's supposed to be that big deal involving Sonny's spice and Kaios at the night before the day where you assassinate this guy. I think you're moving the story along a little too fast.))

OC: Coota I can fix that, I'll make the shipment come late the next day so you can go on with the others.

IC:The New Marshlands Club was busy with patrons Sonny was raking in thousand of dollars a day from this club. Sonny was very happy with this achievment, but that happiness will soon expire. Sonny had just recieved a coded comm message from the corrupt Admiral, the message:

"Sorry, Sonny the Transport will be coming late, probably tommorrow. We had some problems with the local law enforcement here but it's good now expect the transport tommorrow."

Sonny threw the expensive bottle of ale, smashing into the wall. When he calmed down he comlinked Kaios and Macris informing them that the shipment will come tommorrow.

    OOC: Sorry I'm late

    IC:
Kaios had delayed his visit to the tech when Macris called him; business before pleasure, he knew... He entered Fuji's Bar quietly and discreetly; it was busier than usual today. A Ryn in the corner waved at him. Kai walked over to the Ryn's table.
    "Macris?"
    "Kaios, I presume?"
    "Indeed."
The two took a moment to size each other up. When they were both satisfied, they shook hands and Kaios sat. They didn't have much important to tell each other, just small talk. After awhile, Macris' comlink beeped. It was Sonny; the shipment would be late. Macris shrugged.
"Oh, well. I guess we meet here again tomorrow?"
    "Sure. When?"
    "Sonny will tell us."
    "See you then."

Treyers groaned as he saw the message come up on his data pad. The night before had been a bust; he'd learned at the last minute that the transport had been held up for a day. It wasn't too bad, as all the resources were already in place, but Treyers hated waiting.

Now this came up; an annonymous tip about an assassination in the middle of the day. As much as he didn't want to take it seriously, it did add up with what they'd been hearing lately.

However, Treyers had a philosophy about murder. He believed that if someone really wanted to kill someone, it was going to happen, regardless of how you tried to protect them. The only thing they could really do is protect themselves. Besides, the incident hadn't been officially reported, so he didn't even have to send a half dozen Rangers to protect the alleged victim.

No, prevention wasn't worth a credit when it came to murder. It was about solving the murder, tracing it back to whoever ordered it, and arresting them.

But he couldn't just do nothing; a few calls later, and he had assembled a team of four men to keep an eye on things. Two surveillance experts, an officer and a sniper would be enough to at least get a pretty good idea of what was going on down there. Not to mention that they'd be in perfect position to arrest whatever patsy got put up for the murder. Doing whatever they expected you to do always put assassins and master minds at ease. He thought for a moment, and decided to put Sistel on the team as the supervising officer.

He made a call on his com to her office, "Lieutenant, I've got an assignment for you; we've gotten an annonymous tip about a murder of a man named Sho Joon going down at the Womprat Cafe at noon today. I want you to check it out; just don't make yourself known until after whatevers going to happen, happens. I'm assigning you two surveillance men and a sniper to back you up, got that?"

He waited for her reply; it wouldn't be too hard to take care of the prelims on the assassination and still get Sistel ready for the op that night.

OOC: sorry about that. I just realised that I can't get on until next monday after today. The murder will take place monday, then. That should give you Imperials enough time to respond and set up for the investigation.

I apologise for inconvieniencing(sp?) anyone, and see you monday.

    IC:

Cirani pulled out her 'bag of tricks' as she liked to call it. She was in a private place that she went to before every assassination she pulled off, to prepare for it.

She pulled out small stilts and put them on, then pulled boots over them. That would make her taller than she was.

She put on non-descript brown pants she wore every time and put them on. She considered them to be lucky. The silvery buckle on them saved her life once when a vibroblade fight turned nasty.

She put on a tunik of a light brown color...one that had slits in the back to allow her wings through, just in case she needed them.

She put on a brown cloak that hid her wings, but also had slits in them to allow her to use them if needed.

She put her blaster at her side, and her vibroblade in a boot. She put on long black gloves that hid her arms from view.

Then, she carefully dipped three darts in the poison, preparing them for the deed they were to fulfill. When she was satisfied, she placed them in a pouch with the blowpipe.

She looked at herself in a mirror. Nearly ready.

Cirani put a helmit on that finished the look. Now, nobody would be able to tell exactly who she was. Her blue skin was covered, she stands taller than she does naturally.

Noteing the time, she headed for the area above the Plaza where Sho Joon would be waiting in vain for Marik. The job would soon be over with, and she could soon return to the Dew Claw Sindicate HQ, where she called home.

"You'll be taking Sergeant Peris Grenice, one of our assault team snipers, as well as Constables Rini Liarsan and Ise Colton, two of our best surveillance people. Rini's been doing this for a while; I stole her from the Imperial Security Bureau, and she's been working with Colton for a while. They're both professionals. Set them up however you see fit; but if there are any arrests to make, you'll have to make them. Regardless, I'll have a team standing by to back you up.

Grenice will keep you alive until they show up if you get into any trouble; he's one of our best men with a long rifle. I don't think there'll be much to do besides clean up a mess, but if there is, don't hesitate to call for that backup," Treyers replied.

Kai made his visit to the tech specialist early the next morning. The tech, a Barabel with a beer belly and a good sense of humor, greeted Kai with a somewhat disturbing many-toothed grin.
"Kaios! Thiz one is glad to ssee you!"
"How's life, Beruk?" Kai asked in reply.
"Good, good... thiz one'z bizness haz been good," Beruk hissed. "To what does thiz one owe your vizit?"
"82000 credits I got for completing a hit."
Beruk's eyes went wide. The Barabel's jaw dropped a little, but he quickly regained his composure.
"Well... uh... what would you like to do with that?"
Kai shrugged. "Don't know, honestly. Can you do anything for my blaster pistols or wrist blaster?" He put his pistols on the counter--fairly new models from the Westar company, known for being the manufacturers of the pistols used by the famous Jango Fett--and removed the wrist blaster from the bracer on his right forearm.
Beruk picked them up, turned them over in his large clawed hands. "If you don't mind a little extra weight, thiz one can replassssse some componentz with larger onez."
    "Which will provide...?"
"More hitting power, a more accurate shot."
"Sure, sounds fine. What'll it cost?"
"200 creditz for each piztol, 150 for the wrist weapon. That'z cheap, conzidering what thiz one had to pay the black market!"
    Kaios nodded his agreement.
"I'll buy a smaller blaster, too, one that can be easily concealed, to make up for the extra bulk."
    "200."
    Kai nodded again.

Less than two hours later--Bertuk worked fast; he was a pretty in-demand tech, so it was good that Kai was on his good side--Kai emerged from the shop. He checked his chrono. He had a few hours before he had to meet Macris. He commed Sonny.
"Just curious, boss. Any new updates, or anything else at all that I should know?"

"Okay," Aali said, making sure she had it all straight. "Sergeant Grenice is the sniper. Liarsan and Colton, survellaince. I have to make arrests... and if there is any action, call for backup." She nodded. "Okay, sir. I will set out right away."

Well, here we go, she thought to herself. This is the real test.

Sonny, Klin-Fa and a few League men were at the warehouse where the air freighters was going to make it's drop. The League men were checking the inside and outside of the facility for bugs and security problems. Sonny posted extra guards inside and outside the facility. Sonny and Klin-Fa were in another room looking at blueprint plans he was able to obtain of the Imperial Outpost. Soon Sonny's comm on his belt beeped.

    Sonny was slightly annoyed,
"Why are you talking to me Zabrak, if I wanted to give you information I'd tell you, don't call me again!" Sonny immediately clicked him off.

Klin-Fa looked up at Sonny "Who was that?"

"The Zabrak Kaios" Kline-Fa looked at Sonny for a second shrugged and went back to looking at the blueprints.

    Elsewhere...
Macris was enjoying himself at the bar he muscled in on, the owner payed him for just being there. Macris called Kaios, "Hey Kaios this is Macris, meet me at a bar called Dug's House, food and drink is on the house, you have got to be hungry pal. They have Zabrak dancers here, it's probably a little early for that but come on over."

Kaios blinked when Sonny clicked off his frequency, realizing that he'd annoyed the syndicate boss again.
"I have got to stop doing that," he muttered. A little while later, Macris called him, said something about food and drink and Zabrak dancers at Dug's Bar. Kai laughed a little at the lewd tone in Macris' voice; the Ryn also sounded a little on the tipsy side.
"I'll be there," Kai replied, "but only so we can get this business on the road."
"Suit yourself," Macris said nonchalantly. "Some of these girls are reeeally fine..."
Kai snorted, shook his head, and signaled for an airtaxi.

At Dug's Bar Kai found Macris with two dancers in his lap, and looking far less drunk than Kai would have expected him to be. He wasn't slurring his speech or anything. Maybe he wasn't tipsy; maybe he was just always that happy-sounding.
"Sit, my friend!" the Ryn announced. Kaios complied, and soon a serving girl--a young human, probably an orphan forced into labor--brought around a large sandwich filled with meat and cheese and assorted vegetables that actually looked quite appetizing. Kai made a shooing motion when he was offered alcohol, and took water instead. At this, Macris laughed.
    "So, business you wanted, right?"
"Right." Kai thought for a moment. "So, what do you know about the upper levels of the League?"
Macris shrugged. "Nothing I care too much about, but I do know that Sonny and most of his associates are former Imps."
Kaios shrugged. "Knew that already. Anything else?"

TAG: Theron (I don't really know what info Macris has that he can disclose to Kai)

Treyers had dozens of other operations to deal with, but he made sure to keep his eye on Sistel's operation. He'd need to be there to start the investigation, anyhow.

Meanwhile, he alerted two surveillance teams, two teams of officers, and his best assault team that they would have work tonight.

OOC: I'm sorry about the delay, everyone. Looking back, I know I should have posted the morning stuff happening when it was morning, and just taking a break until everyone else got to morning, but I can't change that. If I could, I would have. Forgive me?

Also, since you're not going to stop it, I'm taking a few liberties. Though I am leaving a possibility that he could live.

IC: Noon was approaching. Cirani got in position at the area overlooking the plaza. She pretended to just be looking over the view, though it wasn't much. Then, she saw him enter the plaza. Sho Joon had a couple of others with him, obviously security for him. He looked around the plaza, perhaps trying to find out where 'miss leer' was, 'covering' the meeting. Or, perhaps he was looking for Marik. She looked at her chrono. One minute more. Sho Joon turned and looked as if he was leaving the Plaza. He could not leave yet! She checked her chrono. Time!

Cirani pulled the fabric covering her mouth aside and aimed the blowpipe, the display in her visor helping her get a perfect aim for his exposed neck. She fingered a second dart, having it ready, just in case she missed. She fired off the first dart, then reloaded and fired the second one, the first, hitting his body, the second one getting him at the base of his neck.

She saw him spin around and pull the dart out of his skin, then begin to stagger. Hopefully, the dart was in long enough to kill him.

Cirani dropped the pipe and third dart where she was and turned to leave the scene.

Aali Sistel, dressed in non-descript civilian clothes, watched in horror as a man was shot in the base of the neck with a dart. A woman pulled the projectile from his skin and took off through the crowd.

Aali called in to the sniper, telling him to keep an eye on the killer. She ran over to the downed man. His eyes were glazed, and his breathing was short, irregular, and labored. "We've got to get this man to a medical facility!"

Macris cracked a grin "Let me tell you how you get ahead in this business, it all depends on how mean and ruthless you are. Now take me for instance, I've been a member of the League a lot longer than Sonny, but the difference between me and Sonny that guy is a killer. I've only had two hits. Sonnythat guy seems to enjoy killing people, he's had over 30 to 40 since being with the League. You know he was in Special Ops in the Empire, it's rumored his squad was assigned to Inquisitors to help hunt jedi. I don't know how true that is actually, but it gives you a sense of how fearless this guy is. He is a prime example of how you rise in the League."

Macris took a large gulp of alcohol and motioned for the bartender to pour more. "I've been checking on you, I notice you seem to be a poor man around here. You need to rake in some credits if your want to survive around here. Sonny may feel like since your not pulling your weight and bringing credits to him, he will find no use in you and get you whacked. That 85 thousand is a once in a lifetime payment, yeah everyone in the League knows who killed him, actually that hit was suppose to go to Jonas but Taine knew him not you. But Taine wasn't marked for death just because he stole from Sonny, it's a lot more to it than that. But, I'm not allowed to tell you since your not an actual member. You know I can help you out to get started, a sub-leader named Syn whom I'm under needs a courier to collect protection money. It's a good job to start you out, it'll help make Sonny look at you as not being useless. That is if your interested"

Macris comlink soon beeped "That's Syn now, I'll meet you at the other bar where we first meet for our assignment." Macris got out of his seat and walked away them suddenly turned back. "One more thing, if a Sector Ranger or any other Law Enforement officer nabs you, don't say anything keep your mouth closed, leave the talking to the Duro when he comes."

Macris left the bar jumped on his swoop and left.

    Hours later
Macris and Kaios recieved a message from Sonny that the air frieghter's were waiting for them, outside of Customs. Macris jumped on his swoop and flew directly to the Customs building.

Cirani knew it would not take long for the Imps to be all over the plaza. As she hurried away from the area, a bolt shot out towards her, and would have hit her if she had been a moment slower. She broke out into a dead run.

Cirani already knew exactly where she was going to go. She had to get out of these assassin clothes, and back into her normal every-day clothes. She had to do it where there would be no witnesses who would care, and she had to do it fast.

She ran into a cafe that was always busy this time of day. She knew that not many beings would pay attention to her going into the refresher. It would be the perfect place to change, she thought to herself.

Kaios took in everything Macris said, and thought about it long after the Ryn had gone. Maybe it was time to leave Nar Shaddaa... but on the other hand, he was already on an assignment. If he did well, he'd likely get a new one, and wouldn't be able to leave. If he screwed up, Sonny would probably have his head.
Great. he thought. No way out.
Maybe he should just take the job Macris had been talking about. He'd have to check on the details, of course. But it might be a decent job if he were guarding something. That's what he was best at. It was what he liked doing, to... if the person or object to be guarded was worth it in Kai's eyes. Giving that some thought, Kai decided that he'd ask Macris if he could dig up some information on a more amicable League member, one who wasn't so bloodthirsty, who Kaios could take up a bodyguarding position for.

Or maybe he'd talk to Zarina when she got back, about getting off this dump.

When he got the call, he flew the Pouncing Tiger to a landing pad near Customs; Sonny had somehow gotten him clearance. He then went looking for Macris.
