    Was there originaly a different ending to ROTJ ? With an ewok celebration instead of the views around different planets celebrating ?

    I have an MP3 of what I believe is the original ending but would like it confirmed.

    Cheers.

    Yup, the original ending was an Ewok celebration with a different song. The ending was changed in the SE.

    Luke stands before DV's funeral pyre. Camera pans up to stars...fireworks explode as ships pass by. Camera drops back down to show Ewoks celebrating to the original Yub-Yub song. Han and Leia and company party around the fire. Luke sees the 3 spirits, smiles...the end.

    The only things different about the SE ending is the music is changed..no Yub-Yub and the other planets celebrating.

    yes, lucas has deprived us of our beloved original trilogy. there was a different ending to jedi in which all the celebrations took place on endor, with fireworks, and the ewoks singing a cute little song called celebrate the love. YUB YUB!
    there was no pop number in jabba's palace, just some good jazz/blues with a sy snoodles puppet dancing.
    greedo didn't get to shoot, han never stepped on jabba's tail, and cloud city used to have walls.

    Jabba's palace song was better in the Original Version. But c'mon... even though the yub-yub is "cute" it is by no means nearly as emotional or fitting of an end to a great saga as Victory Celebration (SE). The Victory Celebration song has that nostalgic feeling of relief, like everything is finally over.

    Is this a joke? Were you not alive in 1995 for the THX video release? I guess the REAL versions ARE getting erased from existence!

    the only way i could accept the victory celebration song is if it took place after celebrate the love.

    I am going to brag a little about my trilogy and possibly show my age a little in the process...And answer DarthMaul13's question too. Mine is the Collector's Edition Letterbox(aka Widescreen) 1992 release of the OT. It is in a blue box with a SW hologram on the front, a special making of video & book, (The video is called "From Star Wars to Jedi, The making of a Saga"), and a letter/photo with a short line about the Saga which is "signed" by GL. It is one of my most prized possessions of all of my SW stuff. If you ever see one at a used video store, pick it up. You will obviously be very pleased!!

    Was "Star Wars to Jedi" the video with C3PO and R2D2 hosting/narrating?

    Actually it's narrated by Mark Hamill(he does a great job), and has some very cool interviews with a younger GL.

    There were actually 3 specials. They showed them back a few years ago on SciFi with the letterbox Trilogy. The first I think was just "The Making of Star Wars", then "Classic Creatures" or something like that with ESB, then "SW to Jedi". All three were pretty good as I recall.

    I've started archiving all my OT specials and movies to DVD so as to reduce wear and tear on the originals. And I'm proud to say, I don't own a single copy of an SE.

    I owned the '95 set. I conclude that my Jedi tape, however, got really dirty from being played in one VCR and damaged 2 other VCRs so I pitched the tape. So I own the original ep's 4 and 5, but not 6.

    Message: Be cautious when buying used videos.

    Is anyone here old enough to remember hearing the "Celebrate the Love" song on the radio?

    For those of you not old enough to remember, "Celebrate the Love" was a top 40 hit back in 1983. In addition to the Ewok singing it included a rap from C3PO. C3PO AS A RAPPER! (he raps the lines to the story he tells the Ewoks before being welcomed into the tribe) I still shudder when I think about it.

    I'm shuddering after only reading about it. It sounds like something fit for the SW Holiday Special. ;)

    English lyrics

    Freedom, we got freedom;

    And now that we can be free,

    Come on and celebrate.

    Power, we got power;

    And now that we can be free,

    It's time to celebrate.

    Celebrate the freedom;

    Celebrate the power;

    Celebrate the glory;

    Celebrate the love.

    Power, we got power;

    And now that we can be free,

    It's time to celebrate.

    *Celebrate the light; (Freedom!)

    Celebrate the might; (Power!)

    Celebrate the fight; (Glory!)

    Celebrate the love.

    Celebrate the love.

    Celebrate the love.

    Glory, we found glory.

    The power showed us the light,

    And now we all live free.

    repeat *chorus
