Original Release date of Star Wars IV in UK

Do any of you wise old banthas out there know what date Star Wars IV was first released in the UK. Everyone knows the US date of May 1977 but what was it in England?

Hang around a while and someone will know

 

i remember it as if it was yesterday.

March the 21st 1977. the sun was out, the sea was lapping upon the gentle sands. margaret was there, sunning herself upon the seaguard.

it was a beautiful day. Old Farmer Tom said it was the finest he had seen in years. and when you know of Farmer Tom and his prized rutabagas you knew you could trust his dear old soul.

of course, not everyone in town thought it was the finest. Mary Weathershackle, who lived in a run down old home just around the corner from the high street said dirty young whippersnappers like us would go to hell. she was a crazy old coot, but our childhood would never have been the same without her inane ramblings.

the kids next door had set out a pink lemonade stand and were selling it for 10cents. Dillon next door said how it wasnt real, and was draculas blood, but Jen and me both knew he was making it up.

and then we saw the film.

 

LOL. And Garrett was born 9 years later.

 

March 1977?????

Can't believe that - surely it must have been the Summer of '77?
