Orlando, FL Orlando is dead

How many use these boards?

 

I mostly agree. Even with the occasional convention and comic book/sci-fi store gatherings, there doesn't appear to be much sci-fi life in Orlando (at least that I am aware of).

Hopefully, with the new movie a year from now, the people who wait in line for days can be told of these forums.

Just my opinion.

Alrihgt, so I' have been trying to organize some sort of club. Since there are about 20 in the Tampa forum, and about 2 here, woulad anyone be interested in forming a central Florida chapter or something?

I live in Lakeland, so I'm the monkey in the middle.

 

I would love to have a central florida chapter!!!

 

I visit central florida, Cocoa or Lakeland, every few weeks. I'd be willing to join you.

I'm moving to the orlando area in the near future and I was interested to know if anybody knows some stores where I could buy SW merchandise or figures from??

Also can anybody tell me about any fan club in the area? Or any special Star Wars events

Irf you go to sci-fi city in east orlando near the homedepot...its right off of colonial drive...there is a lot of starwars stuff there...also check ebay...if you need a costume...I actually make costumes....

 

I have been talking with the Tampa crew, and they think we all could form a Central Florida Fanforce as well.

Is there anyone else out there? SOUND OFF!! Don't be shy.

 

hey I think that would be a grerat idea...get the tampa people to join with us mouse area people (in case no one got that...I was referring to disney)

Hye...im a student at UCF and I was thinking about starting a ameture movie club and getting together a fan film festival in orlnado next summer

Orlando is closest to me as far as a FF chap. Yes, a central FL chap would be good. I'm in DeLand which is about 20 miles from Daytona. Anyone else in Volusia county?

 

Hey! I just interviewed for a position in DeLand. Nice town. Loved it. The college reminded me of William and Mary, but with palm trees.

I think Orlando would be a good neutral ground. Or Haines City, but there is no where to meet in Haines City, that and I think it is God forsaken. no offense to anyone, but Fires, flooding, Bloody 27, you name it. Ewwww.

 

Ok so if any of you actually want to meet....email me so that we can work out a spot and we can work out a time. I was thinking that saturdays would be best. I know that I could always find a place on campus at UCF to meet. I am trying to start an Sci-fi ameture movie club at UCF as well...and if we had enough people that weren't students we could start an outside chapter and become and orginazation from there......Im really good a making small things big so let me know what ou think

he parental unit woule NEVER let me go to Orlando to meet SW people. They are so boring.

Yeah, Stetson is pretty decent. The parents used to be professors there. Now we own a printing business. But nothing happens here. Hence the term DeadLand, Flori-Duh.

 

How about we meet at Sci-Fi City in Orlando. Sometime after Dragon Con.
