ST Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) in Episode VII

No one cares about Poe's backstory.

 

from my nonexistent sources, Poe is the 3rd wheel of TFA.

but being serious, you know Poe could potentially have been in the military for 10+ years given his ages (born before Episode VI, when....unknown). Heck maybe he'll get his own book series and video games series as an X-Wing Pilot set between VI and VII.

 

He is a stupidly handsome x-wing pilot with perfect hair who is prone to get captured, what more is there to know?

But in all seriousness, I almost guarantee you once the movie is out, Lucasfilm will make soo many novels, comic books, video games, heck maybe even animated tv series off of the new characters that we'll practically know what they ate for breakfast a week before the events of episode 7.

 

I want a movie about Poe traveling around with a Loth-cat while trying to get his singing career started. Eventually he gives up and joins the Resistance navy.

It would have to include a cameo by Kylo ren.

The lack of Poe in any promo is a big fail.

This could be a really good character to add weight to the film especially as a pilot as well. Not seen that aspect at all in this.

Maybe most shots of Poe Dameron are heavily connected to the plot and would spoil too much... but probably not. I'm sure they stated officialy that he is one of the new big 3 though.

Two new TV spots came in just now. First one shows Maz Kanata's face and Finn activating the lightsaber while the second shows Poe leading the attack on Starkiller base and talking to who appear to be Nien Nunb and Jessika Pawa.

Isaac is going to be fantastic in this film and beyond. I think Finn and Poe's break out is going to be classic SW.

 

I'm really looking forward to that scene too. It should make for an awesome music cue too.

Poe will be important in this film, but the main plot is not about him. I suspect he will have more to do in VIII and IX. But for now, I perfectly comfortable with a kick-ass X-wing pilot!

 

He's going to be ROTJ Lando level I reckon.

 

I agree. But unlike Lando I think Poe's role will only get larger with each episode.
