Exactly. There's no need to read into this too heavily.

The main cast members have obviously read the script. They were all at the table read, for heaven's sake. I believe it was Gleeson that even told JJ that he wanted to read the script first before signing on.

 

There is no need to read too much into ANYTHING here , but it is just as valid a topic, if not more so, than a lot of other things discussed here.

We saw a photograph of one point in the meeting - five minutes later some of them could have had to leave - Gleeson had flown into London in the middle of another job.

There is also differing reports on actors only having their own dialogue pages, etc.

And I do believe that none of the actors,the new guys anyway, saw the script before signing ion the dotted line, but I couldn't swear to it.

 

Both Serkis and Daniels confirmed they read the entire script at the table read.

 

It could've been updated though.

 

And who were they speaking for? Themselves or the whole cast?

 

They literally said that right after the table read. That's the point of a table read, to read the entire script.

 

I wonder if they make silly noises and sound effects during a table read?

 

I would imagine that is half the fun

Possibly, maybe Oscar was only given the script for the sequences he filmed.

Or Issac is just pretending to have massive brain farts when anyone asks him about what the film is about.

He's just avoiding the truth, but the truth is out: Poe Dameron was a mere Star Tours pilot before enlisting with the Alliance. He got fed up with all the tourists so he crashed his StarSpeeder 3000 on Tatooine, and that's where we meet him at the start of TFA.

 

I am under the impression that literally everyone sits there and they go over the script, ask questions etc, so no u dont leave the room for parts your not in.

 

I always thought those were rehearsals too and a getting to know you session for the cast and some crew.

Yes, but there are no rules for the way a table read is done and it isn't (usually) a contractual requirement.

It isn't law that you must sit there.

For example, Gleeson was in the middle of shooting a movie in the States - perhaps he had to leave early to catch a flight back (although I believe he was on this side of the Pond for a few days after).

If I was there I'd be covering my ears for the bits I wasn't in

 

So what is up with Poe? From MSW recent comments...Poe and Finn just go their separate ways after the TIE crash before meeting up later at a Rebel base. So does Poe just abandon his mission with the lightsaber? During this weeks Podcast they thought Rey/Finn steal the Falcon and then go a get Poe who they thought was injured but now it sounds like Poe doesn't even meet Rey until later. Oscar Isaac has implied that he spent a lot time with Harrison Ford, so when does all this come in to play? A lot of gaps and contradictions right now...

 

I'm just going to assume that he spends the middle half of the movie watching netflix marathons while working on ways to get back custody of BB8 from Rey

Isn't there usually a love affair brewing throughout the trilogies? I'm not picking up any romantic vibes from any character nor of the plot points so far. I thought 'lothario' Poe was going to be this dashing charmer.
