ST Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) in Episode VII

Believe it or not, I noticed it as well back in the day. I just considered it not important enough to comment it. Isaac is a pretty hariy dude. Lots of beard there to shave. This is probably the most likely cause.

 

He looks like he has been in a row. There is bruising under his eye too.

I like the scuffle idea too. Poe looks like he got into a fight with someone.

That sounds like fun. Perhaps fighting his way out of the brig with Finn?

But I do like DarthLightlyBruise idea of Luke possibly stepping in, and yet, I believe Poe can easily hold his own.

 

You mean fisticuffs? I like that. The OT was seriously lacking in that.

 

I make joke. The news of Poe's bruise was new, and I brought it right back to complaining about Luke being absent. Bad, bad, bad, I know.

 

Oh. Well, consider it a joke that went over my head like the concorde used.

This has probably been discussed, but, assuming that Poe is an Alliance pilot as the teaser suggests (and not a civilian who joins up for the final battle similar to Luke) will his squadron be Red or Rogue?

I had thought Red Squadron would be the most likely since Luke's Red Five call sign is a fairly well know pop culture reference.

However, with Kasdan involved, I wondered if they went with the Rogues - since he scripted TESB - and with Rogue Squadron being a fairly popular spin off.

On a side note, I wonder, in light of all the publicity, is Denis Lawson regretting turning down a role in TFA ... assuming he was offered, that is?

If this is the case, I`m surprised that it didn`t require exterior shots in the desert for Oscar and hence him being present in Abu Dhabi...

 

Was Oscar not in Abu Dhabi at all?

If not, is it possible that Finn and Oscar steal two different TIEs, and Oscar flies his back to the Rebel base, while Finn crashes his? That might explain the "Finn and Poe" separate after the escape scene, which has never made much sense to me.

 

Could also means that the rumors are not solid.

That's a given. We don't have certainty about the rumors. But they come from a credible source. So it's worth taking them at face value, and trying to figure out the story.

For example, MSW has revealed an interesting rumor, whereby a "black TIE" allegedly "makes all the difference" at Rose's pub, after Kylo's assault. Jason speculates that this is Poe arriving on the stolen TIE, which he may have given a paint job (as part of his "badass" characterization, he paints stuff black). Jason assumes that Poe has fixed it up, but I wonder if they are missing a beat, where Finn flies his own TIE and crashes it (because he's a terrible pilot), while Poe successfully flies his back to base (because he's a great, hotshot pilot). Hence the two separate after their escape plan succeeds.

Minor point, but this may also indicate that TIEs have been given hyperdrives for the ST...

 

Oscar looks like he'd like to talk, but Domhnall looks like this secrecy is a fun and easy game for him lol.

 

well at some point Gleeson mentioned that he's getting used to saying nothing, where as Isaac on the other hand has been the cast member to talk the most about the movie.

 

I think the same. More than a game, it seems he acts, or follow a script.

 

I don't think he's acting the only script he has is to say nothing the rest is just Gleeson messing with people and having fun.
Isaac says more because we saw him in the teaser, we have his name and we know he's an X-Wing pilot all official info, whereas nothing official as been released on Gleeson.

They shot desert planet exteriors on the Pinewood Studios back lot as well. That's where they shot the burning village sequence.

So Isaac takes another jab at the prequels and the perception that they did not shoot on any sets that had anything "tactile" on them? Lovely. I mean, why else would he be making it a point to continually say that? It ain't to reference Transformers 4.
