I would die if we get a shot of them lowering an old Gonk into his x-wing. And Poe is like WTF?

Also Smits [Bail Organs] is the only example we have of another Alderaanian. So who would Leia trust to go after/protect her daughter?
Yeah Alderaan was destroyed, but there had to be at least one off-world survivor. Maybe someone fighting in the Rebellion (already stationed at Yavin).
Don't know if the timeline's work out.
What if they already had a son and took him off-world, before the explosion. Do the time lines work out?
What if Dameron (now grown), is now the last surviving native from Alderaan?
That would be freakin cool!
Also that would make his allegiance/loyalties powerful.

If he is really it's sole native born survivor, their connection may be an incredibly strong one.

I like the idea of Poe being one of the very last survivors of Alderaan. It gives a clear cut reason for him to work with Leia and the Resistance.

Thank you, for putting it out there, and connecting the two together. As far as I know they are the only two (somewhat) Latino actors in the franchise, and it only seems to reinforces the idea.
It's hard to imagine he'd be a direct descendant of Bale, since they made a point of them having no children of their own, but it would be interesting if he was from the same line, the Organa's may have had siblings, and one of them off-world with a child. Which would make him the sole survivor.
I think as the last Alderaanian, Leia would have a vested interest in seeing him grow, and trust him.
Even further, if Leia had a hand in hiding him away, to protect him,only she may know he is related to the Organa house, he could be a lost Prince of Alderaan, which would be freakin awesome.

On the other-hand, we all know how Star Wars likes to build on epic narrative. On the other he may just be a really good pilot she sends on a mission.
