ST Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) in Episode VII

There were early rumors that Poe had the Falcon or would be left the Falcon. But if it's his father's ship, I don't just seem him leaving it there. Unless Rey and Finn take it before he gets a chance to retrieve it.

 

Possible. But we don't know all of the "story fibers" yet, so there's other possibilities. And of course, we might be wrong about this. But this "Cain and Abel" thing with 2 sons and one daughter just fits so right to me now.

 

The reaction Han gave to being in the Falcon again certainly wasn't one that a parent would give having just lent it to their son for the weekend. Also, I'm sure he'd be like "where's my son!?!?!?"

Plus we saw Poe's x-wing in the force for change video parked in the sand.

 

MSW's stuff says Poe arrives on Jakku in an X-wing, and that the X-wing is then torched. Other than that, I don't believe we have any official confirmation.

I was almost 100% certain that the Falcon has been sitting in a junkyard on Jakku for a while, until I remembered that the Falcon is allegedly stocked with living cargo.

Still a lot of holes in this rumored story...

 

Personally I think Poe is probably something of a surrogate son, perhaps an orphaned kid Han and Leia took pity on. He learned his piloting skills from Han and his principles from Leia. It would also add an interesting dimension to things if they took him in after Kylo and Rey disappeared.

 

All these fun ideas with Poe, loving it. The surrogate son idea could work with the speculation that Poe could be one of the very few survivors of Alderaan.

 

Bail's real grandchild?

 

I can live with Kylo and Poe being brothers, so the please give us Rey as Luke's kid as Skywalker, so Solo and Skywalker fans have one on the good side.

Based on interviews I've seen of Oscar Isaac and the 2 seconds of footage we saw of him in the trailers, he's my new favorite newcomer for TFA. His enthusiasm is obvious

Seriously though, I wouldn't mind Isaac being a Solo (at all) but I just think that if every character whose name has been officially revealed has a hidden surname for some reason, it gets a little weird–even if Finn's is only hidden because they don't want Rey to seem obvious. "Poe Dameron" actually seems like it could be a full name, and I'm fine with him being perhaps unrelated, but good friends with, the Solos.

Here's an idea: perhaps when the Solos lost their son (Kylo Ren) they took Poe under their wing so they wouldn't feel the loss of their true son as badly. He became something of an "adopted" son to them, only without ever actually being adopted. Maybe he's just spent so much time with the Solos that they consider him, and he them, family. I could totally get behind the idea, even more than Poe being a blood son. Adoption, or surrogate adoption, hasn't really been studied in SW before (unless you count Obi-Wan and Anakin) except for Bail/Breha and Leia. Even Owen and Beru always identified themselves as Luke's uncle and aunt, never as his adopted parents.

 

I always thought Poe would be "like a son" to Han and that would cause even more strife with Kylo. But that was when I thought Kylo (and Han) was still with the alliance and Kylo gradually turned dark.

Well, if Poe is force sensitive it'll be even more fun. That said, all really good ideas. I enjoy reading them.

 

I also think the names kind of rhyming are a clue:

Poe and Kylo

like
Lacie and Stacie
Stacy and Tracy

You get my drift.

 

I keep seeing Phyllo I think that's why I usually refer to him as Ren.

but that would be interesting if Poe and Ren are connected by blood too.

 

I thought this, too. But where does Dameron fit in? Some odd middle name? A family name?
