ST Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) in the ST

I have "a bad feeling about this" .... that Poe is going to bite the dust in this one.... he is already doing overtime in this episode, he was supposed to die in the first 30 minutes of TFA.

 

Oscar's already confirmed that he's in all three movies.

 

Really? Because that would go against his NDA, as it is a big spoiler....

 

It's not a spoiler. John has also stated that he's in all three movies. And Trevorrow has confirmed that Luke is in all three. LFL has no problem with them disclosing this info.

I wonder what sort of challenges Poe will be faced with, and what elements of his character will be tested. I wonder if he'll become a sort of reluctant leader figure - maybe he never wanted to step up but is forced to? Or maybe there's some element of the Finn/Resistance plot that's still being hidden that focuses more on Poe.

At CinemaCon, they showed a cast list for TLJ and Oscar was billed third, over Adam, Mark, and Carrie (after Daisy and John of course). I wonder if that does signify Poe having a far larger role in TLJ than even his fans speculated. After all, when Disney does do those cast lists, they tend to be indicative of the actual cast list in the credits - their Rogue One cast list from when the film was announced had the billing down essentially as it was in the film.

 

From rumors/leaks, Laura Dern's character will specifically clash with him and Leia.

 

I'm excited to see that dynamic. Laura Dern is a fantastic actress, and Oscar and Carrie are fantastic as well. This should be a real treat tbh.

 

Wha? It's been confirmed that Luke is in all 3 movies? When was this?

(Of course, he could be only a Force ghost in 9 but I really hope not...)

I'm so happy for them! I'm assuming the reason Oscar wasn't at Celebration because it was so close to the due date.

So, and this is from Twitter so obviously YMMV, Oscar's been asked in a couple interviews whether Poe flies the Falcon in TLJ and interestingly enough has always chosen to dodge the question. It's unlikely, given the way the film looks to be progressing, but it would be cool if Poe did fly the Falcon at some point in this trilogy.

 

Interesting. But what kind of idiots are wasting their limited time with Oscar Isaac by asking that question?

 

I'm surprised no one has asked him the million dollar question Twitter's been clamoring for about Poe's sexuality. But I'm also glad for that - I hate it when actors get asked about ships and I wish reporters would stop asking John about FinnPoe as well.

No, in all serious, I'm VERY curious to know what, if any, kind of dynamic they'll have.

 

Oscar's unwillingness to answer the Falcon question makes me wonder if Rey and Poe might reunite then fly off to save/help Finn on his First Order mission. If that's the case, I can see them having a dynamic where they're mostly bonding over their friendship with Finn but they bicker a little as they're trying to fly the ship.

 

If I were to seriously ship two TFA characters, it would be Rey and Poe.

For no other reason than that Rey is adorable and Poe is sexy.
