ST Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron) in the ST

I should admit, this brief scene in the new trailer was the first time i really dug in Poe, and it became my favourite scene in the whole trailer. The speech, the voice and harsh weighty expression sold him to me.
I never cared about him and thought the trilogy would loose nothing if Poe didnt exist.
But i really like Poe as some reasonable competent stoic guy in SW with a little bit of extravagancy. Just a little bit.
And yeah, no more piloting. Prefer him to lead the Resistance as general.

 

We’ve seen him in his boosted X-Wing so you might be a bit disappointed there.

 

Well, im not expecting him to lead the resistance right from the start. Some struggle with Holdo, maybe Leia's death, and i see almost zero candidates besides Poe to lead the Resistance on the captain's bridge.

 

Yes, I do expect him to be leading in some capacity at some point. Possibly a smaller splintered group.

 

Which is cool, but they better bring back Snap or Jess to lead the starfighters. We need pilot heroes.

 

He's the best damn pilot in the galaxy. That's literally his whole character at this point, besides also being really handsome. He's gonna be piloting throughout the trilogy, fam.

slightly off topic but is there any confirmation Greg Grunberg (Snap) is definitely in this movie? Or Jess for that matter?

 

Pava's actor confirmed that she isn't in TLJ, not sure about Snap.

 

Jessika Henwicks said she might be back for later movies though so hopefully we'll see Jess Pava in episode 9....

As for Poe, I remember that Han still flew on missions after becoming a rebel general so I can see Poe leading the resistance as well as flying sometimes.....flying is integral to Poe's character- would be a crime to take it away.

 

I'm fine with him being a damned good pilot but not "one helluva pilot!" (*pew, pew, pew = 14 TIE's gone in one run*).

Less Hollywood, more tasteful skill. If you catch my drift.

 

I met Greg in July.... he suggested he is not in it either. A mistake, IMO... the secondary pilots matter. Hopefully they make a triumphant return in IX.

Well, it was 8, I think, not 14, but yeah, a LITTLE over the top, perhaps, but I admit, I loved it.

 

I hope not. He was the least convincing pilot in the Resistance. Had “JJ let me on set” written all over him. Go with some interesting faces.

 

I really don't care if he's force sensitive or not.

But... I have a strange feeling given the last issues of Poe's comic.
They're hinting for sure that he's going to take Leia's place in the Resistance
And ok, that's pretty fine and obvious.

But it's like they're putting here and there are some other things at least suspiciuos...

If not, I'm calling it now... it's the twist no one expect.
It cannot be something in between.
Makes no sense.

 

In TFA, as the group is walking towards Maz's castle, Han says "You think it was luck that Chewie and I found the Falcon?". A most definite call back to that Obi-Wan clip and dialogue.

Han now obviously knows that the Force is at work in all things.

 

I hope that he isn't Force Sensitive personally. It makes it really boring if everyone has to be FS in order to accomplish anything of note/have skills. Speaking of Han, he wasn't any less cool of a character, or any less popular with the audience, for not being FS.

Variety is good.

 

That's why I don't care if he is or not.
I'd say, it's even better if he's not.
Still I believe some bits here and there (not in TFA) are starting to look suspicious.
But... it can absolutelly be me seeing too much on those things.

it's obviously on display here....and you can see the necklace in other pictures..so just a little visual flourish? or is there a story linked to that ring? Did he lost the girl he was married to in a battle? Is it a gift from someone important? Or just they thought "Poe would look cool with a necklace and ring!!"....

Also, it's reported that Luke Skywalker himself is going to be wearing a necklace in TLJ. And apparently this necklace will have a Kyber Crystal on display.

 

i really wish i knew when this happens



- is it before he fights in d'qar battle (assuming he does)
- is it after d'qar battle (evacuation)?
- is it evacuation from crait?
- is it some other battle in space that isn't really in my knowledge of what happens?

i'm assuming those dark ships are passenger ships?

also is the FO using kyber weapons... the laser shot is green and one shot is exploding an entire ship...

so maybe this is before poe joins in the d'qar battle and his expression is shocked at those weapons?

perhaps the resistance thought they had more time to evacuate d'qar but the FO showed up before they could finish. so poe isn't in the x-wing because they weren't planning on a battle.

 

This is after the D'Qar evacuation.
The scenes where he's piloting the x-wing are above D'Qar.
You may see the asteroid field behind him.

Once that is done, the Resistance doesn't go immediatly to Crait.
I believe they keep on moving through the galaxy.

Then there is another space battle, the Raddus is hit and that's when they land with those vehicles on Crait.
But I cannot say if that happens before or after Finn and Rose are sent to the Supremacy.
Because we know that there's at least a scene of Chewie on the Raddus.

So... it goes:
D'Qar, Finn and Rose on C.B., Finn and Rose back to the Raddus.
MF on the Raddus. Raddus's evacuation, Resistance on Crait.
The open question is when (and from where) Finn and Roseare sent to the Supremacy (the Raddus or Crait).

 

i bet it's that the supremacy has kyber laser weapons. so once it shows up on the scene they know they have to get out of there or be destroyed and much of the plot is about how they need to take down the supremacy.
